Stuart Harrison replied to the topic Units on transport in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 9 months ago
The question and answer you’re looking for is under AoSU and is actually asking about body armour:
“Does the body armour bonus apply against hits suffered in close
combat? And what about against hits from a destroyed transport the
engineers were riding in?
Yes to both, as most damage in close combat is caused by small
arms, and damage from…[Read more] -

Well, creative models are ever good. Making them more “Yours”
But with the MG I’m with Kar 98K. Or better said, against a K98. 😉 The better option would be a pistol, the German MG gunner’s secondary weapon.
For cases I use to cut pieces of brass wire. Easy to cut and allready the perfect color.

Nick replied to the topic spotter and holding objectives in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 9 months ago
My objection to spotter holding taking something is economic. A 50 point mortar and 10 point spotter would be able to take 2 objectives.
That doesn’t seem quite right .

Jaesen replied to the topic Torpedo Rules in the forum Victory At Sea 4 years, 9 months ago
Torpedoes take planning and tricksiness to use. You have to get up close, and take the risks inherent in getting that close.
Destroyers and Cruisers are using their speed and a few judiciously utilized Evade orders to get in close and be ready to pounce (as first activation on a non-Evade) if you happen to win initiative.
Granted, your rolls…[Read more]

Jaesen started the topic Bulgarian Counter-partisan Experts rule vs Forward Deployment in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 9 months ago
As it reads on AoIatA pg 64, it prevents forward deployment by any unit using sniper/spotter/observer, so it would prevent forward deployment by things like Night Infiltrators, Suicide AT Teams, Native Irregulars etc that use the spotter deployment mechanism as well, right?
Secondly, does the rule’s anti-outflanking provision override scenario…[Read more]

Admin replied to the topic Thread Approval in the forum General Discussion 4 years, 9 months ago
Ive added an update to the forum software that should prevent it from being so strict in future, external links to images should now in theory work without needing approval. Hopefully that works!
Images can also be uploaded as attachments to the forum as always, with a maximum file size of 9mb.

David S replied to the topic Possible house rules in the forum Black Seas 4 years, 9 months ago
I agree Steve re sailing at 45 degrees, and your other points on tacking in real life. It seems the accepted angle is “6 points to the wind” (or 67 degrees). However I didn’t want to propose too many changes to the rules, which use 45 degrees for a warship under the advanced rules and 30 degrees under the basic. I was just looking for a simple fix…[Read more]

“So, in Bolt Action Second Edition, what do players do with their forward observer teams after the team has completed their mission?”
Discussed many times as part of threads on the Bolt Action Facebook pages – here are a few examples of comments on the “Bolt Action” page, there are more on “Bolt Action International”, and “Bolt Action…[Read more]

Stuart Harrison replied to the topic Forward Observer Teams – what happens to them? in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 9 months ago
Discussed frequently on Bolt Action facebook pages. General consensus is they remain in play as there is nothing suggesting they are removed.
Examples (found searching by “observer after”):
Q – “Does anyone here sometimes turn their command team/ observers it a roaming SMG/ rifle team and use em to plug weak points?”
A – “After the observer…[Read more]

Always nice to see conversions. I mix and match between various sets and also make or repurpose figures that I need for scenarios.
I needed a panzerschreck so made one.

That’s good. I’ve had a chance to read the starter rules and I am quite happy with them – blog post here https://twtrb.blogspot.com/2020/04/naval-gazing-part-2-rules-first.html
but the TLDR version is “I think these will work and look fun”
