From Kaiser’s time to modern Bundeswehr all German soldiers are fit, well shaped and motivated super soldiers.

Yes, The 3pdr would be a light smoothbore. The 6pdr could be either smooth or rifled but I would class it as horse artillery. I only say that because of the wording in the table for ranges on page 56 of BP2.

Right, so take a look at the title, The Armies on page 117. There, in the first paragraph, it states that the majority of the infantry was Bavarian.
The rest of that section gives you some idea of the number of figures used, which is not too important because you have your own unit sizes and Black Powder doesn’t count figures, but it still t…[Read more]

When you say attached, do you mean part of the unit or do you mean it is in the same brigade?
There are rules for brigade squares on page 91 of BP2. These include artillery and more than one battalion of infantry. I would adapt those and place the gun on a corner of the square. That will add some extra firepower to one side of the square.…[Read more]

The 3 pdrs are probably better as battalion guns with the 6 pounders being light field guns (BP2 calls them horse artillery). Having said that I play 15mm and increase all artillery ranges by 25%.

If a product is still visible on the web store there is the possibility of it being made again or it could be under review. Once removed its gone.
The civilians are planned to be re-released, although as with alot of plans things have been delayed because of C19.

There are new things on the way, unfortunately C19 has had a big impact.

Each platoon must have a junior field officer (lieutant) and can have a senior field officer (captain or Major)…. yes this means you could have 2 majors in 2 platoons…. :
Its only the characters who are limited to 1 per army (and they are all in the top secret call out boxes and are opponents consent)

Hello all,
If I have a large force with say 2 platoons, can I but stuff in the HQ part of the army twice over?
e.g.If I have 3 platoons could I have, in theory, a medic in each?
Or is the HQ considered as being once per army?
Cheers

The true national TYW French looked a bit different, more finges….. -)  But the mercenary armies fighting in Germany had few of them. Most looked like typical late TYW Germans. Unfortunately the Warlord miniatures re designed for ECW, often not 100 % identical.
As asked for I add some 1672 French pics.

Hmm, there are very good French soldiers available for early Louis XIV time. Including the Musketeers. Google for 1672 . Infantry still with pikes and no bayonets like in TYW.  I did a larger French force (and 1672 Dutch, Spanish, Austrian and English) and like them a lot.
A certain Nottingham company did some French TYW foot long ago,…[Read more]

Nat replied to the topic Napoleonic Artillery – Using Half Batteries paired as full batteries in the forum Black Powder 5 years, 8 months ago
If you look at most of the Napoleonic army lists they dont have howitzer entries so I would say they are factored in &Â the 2-2-2 is for a full howitzer battery only

Yeah WL could do with a proof reader who plays the games!… And all 3 books could do with a V2 revamp with some more consistancy across all of them (why is it -8 points to down grade in Clash but half points in AT 1&2?) why do horse artillery go from being light smothbore guns in AT1 to being just smoothbore artillery in AT2? etc etc

The blurb /writting about deploying as half batterys is the background /historical reasoning behind being able to take half batterys in your list.
The half battery option is for downgrading the unit when you purchase them, ie you are buying a small battery instead of a normal sized one. (which is why in CofE lists they are written as ‘downgrade…[Read more]

Yes is would be option B….. if you rolled 4,1,1, then it could be B or A (depending on how you read the massive damage paragraph!).  If you rolled a 1 for the pen hit & then a 4 +1 it would be forced disembarked with 2 PINs

Hi Bill,
As the tailed plan is made disadvantaged (and not just counted as being disadvantaged) at the end of the attackers movement step, they then get to make their ‘defensive tactics’ move. When the next step of the activation comes round (the pilot action) the defender is still disadvantaged….the benifet of the card its to make the shot a…[Read more]
