SteveT started the topic Not good in the forum Beyond the Gates of Antares 5 years, 8 months ago
Played our first game today. Was not good at all. Points system is bizarrely unbalanced, way too many fiddly random modifiers and non-random modifiers. Assaults rules are far too unwieldy.
Wish it had the elegant simplicity of Bolt Action that effectively conquers all these things with less mental processing.
I came, I saw, I said “No”.

Lacking any other special rules/restrictions, I would suggest manhandling as for a light howitzer (6″ on a ‘Run’ order).
Yes sounds logical. I am thinking of getting the US T66, 5 more points for 1 more man compared to the Land Mattress. It can be printed from this file:

The Portuguese line battalions had 4 line companies and 1 grenadier company each. No light company after 1808. Loads of info here LINK

you get to choose if units like observers /snipers are part of the reserves or deployed units.
If deployed units then they can use their deployment rules instead of the normal rules

As a Russian I’ve played against the Nebelwerfer a couple of times… the potential damage it can do with the templates is enough that I’ve targeted it as soon as possible!

I wanted to find out the German/British player’s experience in fielding the Nebelwerfer/Land Mattress. Do you prefer to use them for firing smoke (providing cover for your troops) or HE? Are they effective? How do you move them?
Stats for the Land Mattress can be found on page 100 of the Battleground Europe book, pretty much the same as the…[Read more]

So with the RN & KM boxes shown for preorder today…
Whos up for guessing what ships & aircraft the IJN & USN will get next time?
I guess the IJN will get the ISE or Fuso class Battleship for something between the Yamato and Kongo
The aircraft…1 x Emily, 4 x Pauls (the fighter designed for flying off the Ise BB) & 4 x georgesUSN… not…[Read more]

invisible officer replied to the topic Tudor English miniatures, who makes these? in the forum Pike & Shotte 5 years, 8 months ago
The morion helmet was typical all over Western Europe, from Malta to Scotland. And the pants had been international fashion too. Like later French styles the Spanish one was “de rigeur”.
Regular troops needed a sash or similar field sign to distinguish them.
The modern arms and armor in the English and Spanish stores looked the same. Only…[Read more]

Its a defensive unit…most missions have a 12″ deployment zone, so I’d read that as must be within the deployment zone

I think it might be a 1/48 scaled model. Perry mjniatures website lists a 1/56 BM 58 Junkers Ju 87 B2 ‘Stuka’ resin kit that comes complete with decals and a transparent canopy.

SteveT started the topic Japanese dug in tank in the forum Bolt Action 5 years, 8 months ago
From online rules:
Dug in – the vehicle counts as being in Hard Cover to attackers and counts immobilised damage results as crew stunned instead. The vehicle cannot move for the entire game and is therefore always set-up onto the table (up to 12” from the player’s table edge) even in scenarios that do not allow initial set-up of units…[Read more]

Worth remembering that skirmishes get a -1 on their ‘to hit’ dice in melee, and can also not be supported. This should be more than enough to tip the odds to the cavalry.
I would allow Cossacks to charge skirmishers from any angle!

Nat replied to the topic Skirmish units in the forum Black Powder 5 years, 8 months ago
A skirmish unit has one frontage – front, until it is engaged and forms up…
which upsets my cossacks… who can only charge enemies in the flank or rear!

Nat replied to the topic Breaking allied army in the forum Black Powder 5 years, 8 months ago
Well I’d take the rules that a 2 battalion brigade needs both destroyed to brake the brigade and take it up the army level.. so a 2 brigade army would need both broken to break the army.
So what you’d lose it flexiblity of having larger brigades you’d gain in overal staying power of the army…. It also means that this issue only turns up if you…[Read more]

The rules talk about half the brigades in the army as a whole, so I would interpret the situation you describe, as the army is defeated when any two of the three brigades are broken. Obviously some scenarios involving less reliable coalition partners might interpret it differently.
