From the last WG’s newsletter:
We want to thank everyone who has pre-ordered the brand new Blood Red Skies starter set and associated releases. Demand has been sky-high! For those who have already pre-ordered – Good news! You will still receive your new aircraft this month.
However, as a result of the high demand the Midway starter set and all re…
Didn’t checked everything but if you follow the guidelines for war period and zone of conflict provided in the rulebooks, Numbers should have been given to the Yaks.
Random can leads to highly unbalanced games but you have to keep in mind that BRS has been thought to provide the reality of those aerial fights. Enemies didn’t called each others…[Read more]
I’ve checked the links and I confirm Oliver’s issue.
The main page is loading fine but when clicking to any of the rulebook links, I’m redirected to the store loading the good page but instantly replaced by a 404 one.
The M2 profile was introduce in the Imperial card set.
Nice to read as usual.
As the newsletter just provide more details about the content I just noticed that the Zero are M2 while the one available since BoB release are M5.
Models are obviously different sculpts as the new are made of Warlord Resin but I don’t know if there’s much visual difference (as far as I know the main upgrades were engine and guns).
My take on this would be:
– strafing: hit only
– bombing: hit and critical
As much as I’d love to see this game being released, I’m not really fitting into any pledge level at the moment beside the smallest one.
Thanks to the change from the initial 2 squad sets to the full range, I could choose from the latest sets I don’t own yet (the resin ones). If the price for 2 squads is quite lower compared to a shop, delivery…[Read more]
I mentioned it earlier here but not much response.
I didn’t back it yet.
Apparently everything about the project happens in the closed FB group so hard to see how it will evolved.
And the KS campaign is live since yesterday
I think we digress as the OP was about the great war.
Regarding this part, as long as no one intend to play planes from WWI against their WWII counter part, firepower scaling may tolerate some marging if not a scal of its own or all the planes may end with FP 0 to 1.
BTW, about afterburner, it should have a counterpart (like start with one…[Read more]
Or a smaller battlefield indeed.
I’m pretty sure it should work as it scales up for Korea and potentially could to modern area too.
All you need is the scale used to transform planes characteristics into play values.
If I remember properly, Andy Chambers shared some of those informations in a previous post.
It needs to be tested for sure but if we look at WoG/WoW, both…[Read more]
For those who missed the announcement, the campaign should start soon.
Not much info so far beside solo vs AI and online game mode.
I’m keeping an eye on it.
Already painted one two years ago as a gift for a friend (posted in this very same topic) and only painted mine today.
I think I made some progress.
I’ve just seen Mantic’s Armada (based on WL’s Black Seas ruleset)h ow to videos and it struck me how it remind me of BRS in some ways.
So I wonder, if BRS was created now, would it gain to switch from round bases to square bases with various turn templates (and potentially various firing templates).
I’m very happy with BRS how it is from start…[Read more]

Nice Yak and Lavochkin indeed.
Please tell me that the tiger claws are decals.
I’m happy to see some activity around here (been quiet a lots myself).
Regarding plastic/metal/resin here are my thoughts:
– plastic are pretty nicely done even if there’s some wings warping (could be easily fixed with hot water). I tend to prefer those as they have deep grooves and are easier to apply wash. Also, tehy are toys,…[Read more]
Long time no paint.
The Mig Alley box was done back in May but was still waiting to be varnished.
