Might I suggest ospreys men at arms boom 141…napoleons line infantry …
basically it it boils down to regimental preference … there is no one size fits all answer you need to look at the regiments in question.

Nat replied to the topic Tank and turret pivots in the forum Bolt Action 5 years, 5 months ago
As said above turrets normally have a 360deg arc unless jammed (damage table result)
i say normally because some turrets have limited arcs such as the soviet t28 & t35 tanks which have turrets limited to 2 arcs (so 180)…

SteveT started the topic Rule book and Reference sheet don't agree in the forum Hail Caesar 5 years, 5 months ago
Not only don’t agree but are opposite in meaning…
From p.72 rules:
- On the roll of a 6 ‘to hit’ by ranged attacks requiring less than 6 to hit.
From Quick Ref sheet
• On the roll of a 6 ‘to hit’ by ranged attacks requiring better than 6 to hit.
Which is it?

Looks like a good alternative. Thanks for sharing it.
The only difference I can notice here is that this one seems to be made of harder plastic. Not sure if it changes anything here.

Answer in rulebook and confirmed by FAQ. Turret weapons arc of fire is 360°
Rule book 2nd edition:
“…Turret-mounted weapons. Weapons mounted on turrets can usually fire all around (i.e. into any arc)…”FAQ:
“…Can a turreted vehicle in Ambush react to a movement outside the arc of fire of its weapons? Can the turret turn to react to the…[Read more] -
SteveT replied to the topic Inconsistency in rules? in the forum Hail Caesar 5 years, 5 months ago
Thanks Al.
I cannot see any rational for a stone wall (Moral save) to be in a different category (Shooting mod) for a metal wall (aka armour). z

-1 on Ranged attacks vs cataphracts/heavy infantry.
That is odd, since these units were slow and didn’t present fast moving targets. If it is because of their protection, then surely this is equivalent to troops behind cover.
Is this an error? (I am using the Quick Ref sheet that Warlord put out)
Cheers

Hi Craig,
Another post waiting for validation or stuck in the spam box.
I replied to the BRS Yak1 or 1B thread (I appear as the last poster in the thread list) but the post doesn’t show.
It may be due to 2 links I put in it, but one is to WL store and the second to the BRS official site :/

Also it allow easier storage as the models can be removed from their base/peg.
I love the Virai minis but on they don’t fit most of the standard foam spaces ^^

Hi everyone,
I’m stocking Virai models for quite some time now and didn’t go that because of the two things (beside the actual world situation that prevent gathering with friend to play games):
– my paint scheme (almost done)
– flying pegs
I about to discuss about the second point here. The issue is once they are glued to the model the tend…[Read more]

SteveT started the topic Small unit frontages in the forum Pike & Shotte 5 years, 5 months ago
Looking at page 23, why do small infantry units have the same frontage as standard units?
I was thinking that 2 small units can align to fight 1 standard unit, but this wouldn’t be the case according to p 23.
Cheers

Hello all,
Want to give the game a try but the only ancients/medievals I have are 15mm based up for DBM (40mm frontages)
Our table is 6 x 4. So we need a reduction in scale to deal with the not-a-12′-long-table ,as well as smaller figure size.
We can’t use 28mm frontages as the number of figures needed would skyrocket. I know the anything…[Read more]

I have been playing war-games over Skype/Facetime long before the ‘anti-social distancing’ of the plandemic. Works pretty well!

SteveT started the topic Loss of Division Commander in the forum Black Powder 5 years, 5 months ago
What happens when a Division Commander is lost? I assumed his group can only use initiate orders from now on…meaning those far from the enemy are reduced to just sitting and watching. Or can the General of the army ride in and at least give an order to one of the units, or can he indeed take on the roll of his lost divisional commander?

SteveT started the topic A question of Support in the forum Black Powder 5 years, 5 months ago
We had a situation of 1 Spanish and 1 British cavalry locked in hand combat. The Spanish had another cavalry unit in Support, behind its friend in front, but slightly to the side.
(1) Could the Spanish unit that is in support still do an Initiative Order to manoeuvre around and get ready for a charge to the British flank? (I assume they c…[Read more]

The Leibfahne of Bavarian 18th cenury foot was White, in center the “Muttergottesbild”, Maria with child. In very early 18th century some regiments had it, some not. It became standard around 1705. In most cases the borders had the blue/White Rautenmuster. In that time each battalion, even the first, had an “Ordinarfahne”, the all over blue white…[Read more]

Master Chief replied to the topic SAS Deception Teams in the forum Bolt Action 5 years, 5 months ago
Good question on stacking of the Deception ability of the SAS Deception team in the Overlord book (page 141). The same question can be asked on the Sabotage ability of the German Brandenburgers in the Ostfront book (page 46).
I suspect these are oversights on the writers’ part, and the intention is not to stack. Then again we can also imagine…[Read more]
