Yes bunker = a -4 cover mod so snipers (& flamethrowers) ignore it!
Most shooting at bunkers is hail marys (aka 7+ to hit… :p 6 followed by a 6)HE… can always target buildings ignoring cover mods!.. however you dont get to roll damage against models inside, & you need 12 hits to bring a bunker down…. so 3 or 4″ template only

Participant“I thought this, but D2 HE there was in 1st edition, in 2nd edition there isn’t (1” is D3 in buildings).”
Last part of the last sentence of that paragraph I referred you to:
“… and note that both HE(D2) and (D3) use the 1″ template.”
I red that, but Firefight update is wrote on 2019, and Second edition i…[Read more]

Clear! Thank you!

ParticipantI doubt you’ll find an exact answer since firefight doesn’t seem to be an “official” rule set.
My guess is that you will have to roll to hit as with any other weapon.
I agree

ParticipantD2 HE is first edition HE notation – to convert first edition HE to template sizes, see the HE chart on p70 of the second edition MRB and cross reference the ‘hits vs units in buildings’ column as explained in the para below the chart.
I thought this, but D2 HE there was in 1st edition, in 2nd edition there isn’t…[Read more]

From Firefight update – faq:
“On an Advance or Fire action, a unit may elect to throw a hand grenade instead. Resolve a D2 HE attack against a target within 6”
1) you have to roll to hit before?
2) Firefight rules say that HE inflicts 1 hit to target and 1 hit to models inside HE template. So what mean “D2 HE attack”?

Most Kriegstagebücher / KTB up to 1943 survived and a lot of the later. They are not published in Internet and very few got printed, excerps only. They belong to the Bundesarchiv Abteilung Militärarchiv and can be read there.
Being a professional historian I spend much more time in archives than most peoples. Including many authors of war boo…[Read more]

Like all good invented stories the veteran one sound well. But is still an invention.
The men from 1. Fj Rgt that fought in Holland 1940 wore Heer color trousers and LW blue jackets. Anything not covered by the Knochensack was Feldgrau in the Holland actions. Even the helmet was painted field grey. So a veteran would not wear LW blue tr…[Read more]

Another nice WW I item!
But a question, why the dress colors???? The K Flak units belomged to the Heer and so they wore normal artillery stuff. That brown legwear would have made the Batteriefeldwebel jump in squares.
Feldgrau came in many shades, too many producers. But there was ever enough to dress all men in that. Motor troops had a…[Read more]

Hi CtG, I see your reasoning but I was sticking to RAW. With your example I think it is even more important that the RAW approach is taken, BP’s strength is the randomness it brings to command and movement. No units are exempt from friction. Good discussion though.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarification, Gary. We’ve never interpreted it like that. I think our logic is that, if a unit is entitled to a free move, then this entitlement is on the basis of what the unit is, or is doing, not on the basis of being the unit where the commander fluffs his roll.
Couldn’t you say that every unit in a brigade has te…[Read more]

I am sorry CtG, free moves are only available to units that failed their command roll. First para of p.34. Hence some units with free moves won’t get them if they are not ordered for whatever reason.

Any unit that has not received an order that turn. It doesn’t matter if you fail a command roll for that unit, or before you get to it.
Hope that helps?
