Actually that was under the “ORDERS TO TROOPS INSIDE BUILDINGS” section that started on page 122. So a Run Order can be issued to a unit to leave the building, and if the unit can also reach another building across the street (with at least one model at an opening into the building), it should be able to enter it.

Hm. But that is really talking about adjoining buildings. Not running across a street into a new one. Right?

Wayne, it is just a general thing. It is unlikely that anyone would have a frontage that falls in between because there is no figure count in the game. So, just make your units up accordingly. If you do have units that fall in between, just make a decision as to which size the unit will be and that will be ok. The difference will only be a few…[Read more]

Yes. It is mandatory. Also, even if the unit is not used for support ( there is more than one eligible to support – eg: two units at the rear) both would have to take the break test if the fighting unit is destroyed.

Bolt Actikn 2nd Ed page 123 top left paragraph:
A Run order can be used to either leave the building, to move up or down two floors, to move up to two adjoining buildings, or to make an assault into an adjoining floor or
building. A running unit cannot also shoot – as per the usual rule. Note that some buildings have a flat roof which is a…[Read more] -

Hi Big Ai
Thks for the clarification. When you say “Supporting units do not have a choice”, is that support in combat is not an option but a mandatory ?

This question arose yesterday.
Can an infantry unit leave a building and enter a different building (say across the street) in a single Run order?
Cheers

So this is a rather silly rules question and there may not be an actual answer but… I am a newbie to BP so I’m looking at following the recommended frontages (doing Napoleonics) for Standard/Small/Large units. What about the frontages that fall in between the ranges?
For example, Small is listed as 120mm – 150mm and Standard is 200mm -…[Read more]

Hi it can be a little overwhelming. Here’s my tip…Google.
Hedges …pan scourers yes….but try to get Eager Beaver scourers they are massive. An inch thick.
Houses …..mdf pretty cut or foam if you want DIY.
Trees …scenics are great at tree skeletons that you bend into shape and add clump foliage.
But don’t forget a battle mat we us…[Read more]

MTBs /small boats will have been used to slip under radar to mine channels used by subs and also to clear an area before you sail your own subs / capital ships out of harbour.
Could you do dieppe… possibly… but I wouldnt due to the numbers involved… but the Commando raids (such as the recover of the paras who took apart the german radar…[Read more]

MTB and Schnellboote had DC / Wasserbomben. They used them mainly to attack surface vessels, running close along . throwing them and going away full Speed. The blast broke the Targets back.
They also used them in fleeing before destroyers and similar. Not nice to run over a DC….. .
Submarine hunting was rarely done. The boats had limited…[Read more]

“American veteran tank crews also have the benefit of ignoring the -1 to hit from advancing just like American infantry, depending on the tank”
Note, this only extends to the specific weapons with the gyro-stabiliser rule (usually only the main gun on the majority of US tanks – not all tanks have them and none of the tank destroyers etc have…[Read more]

There actually are some other benefits to Veterans depending on which army you’re using. Usually Veterans typically have more options in weaponry such as bringing multiple LMGs or having a full squad of assault rifles for Germans.
Tank crews also get a nice boost from being veterans where they ignore pins from heavy weapons that cannot damage t…[Read more]

I am new to Cruel Seas, having left my starter set to gather dust on my closet shelf for a couple of years. Now, based on a short docudrama on Youtube about MTB warfare, I have caught the i bug about the small boat warfare that went on across and along the English Channel/North Sea. I see a lot of history to be explored as one gets into the…[Read more]

Stick em in the freezer for a day or two and you should be able to snap em off. Just be a bit careful if you have also got other bits of the fig that are also superglued.
