Oh you young peopes, old gamers like me started in pre internet time and got nothing but books. (And had to walk 15 miles through snow to school 😉 )
The Schweres Maschinengewehr Lafette had some high settings to offer best arc of fire and cover combination. So the Warlord Version is not unusual.
I tried to take an explaining pic from my…[Read more]

From the photos on the Walord site often it is not clear how some pieces are mounted. I remember that I had the same problem with pak36. I don’t remember if I forced anything or just glued it with the correct angle

invisible officer replied to the topic Night Action Visibility Rules in the forum Cruel Seas 6 years, 4 months ago
There was near to no chance to see a submerged mine. Even the contact mine was deep enough to be invisible. So normally S-Boote and MTB could pass contact mine fields without risk.
The magnetic, pressure or sound mines are very difficult to clear. There are settings that made them immune to the first contacts in a given time, so a Sperrbrecher…[Read more]

invisible officer replied to the topic Japanese Infantry Uniforms – Colour of Puttees in the forum Bolt Action 6 years, 4 months ago
The best sourches are original items and contemporary Color drwings.
You find them for example in the classic Japanese language book Imperial Japanese Army and Navy Uniforms and Equipment. Sold in UK by Arms & Armour Press in 1975.
page 175 Shows orignal puttees in some versions.  There was a dark olive green version with light green straps an…[Read more]

Yeah thanks Stuart, I thought that must be the case, otherwise the national “ability” would be pretty much a dud.

i don’t have that book, but i looked at easyarmy. the reinforced platoon has only one armor, and in the list of available vehicles there are also Germans.
even in logic I feel like saying that the basic rule of the reiforced platoon has only one armor. then there are the various books with campaigns and scenarios. take a look at easyarmy and take…[Read more] -

Hello,
Hungarians can include a German tank.
That would mean 2 tanks were possible in a single platoon in this case: 1 from the given Hungarian list + the German option?
Cheers!

Good idea to use a template. I did a quick search and found this on the market. They come in different sizes, to fit different sized vehicles.

Garry Wills replied to the topic Points system in the forum Black Powder 6 years, 4 months ago
I use BP for historical scenarios and if set up care, it works well. However I prefer to use 15mm figures which increases the area represented on the table. The full points system is explained in the first edition of the rules but not in the second edition. This link shows one example of my games LINK

1 – depends on what you mean by historical, unless you are looking at playing on a table the size of a tennis court with 101 charts and stuff like that there will always be an elament of game play
2- yes in the suplements (eg Albion Triumphant 1 &2 + Clash of Eagles)

Hello all,
Thinking  of  getting into this game, for Napoleonic initially.
(1) I’ve heard the rules are more toy soldier than historical? Is that overly critical? I don’t need too much detail but I like rules to be logical and reflect what went to reasonably.
(2) does it have a points system? If not, are you just fighting the same scena…[Read more]

Garry Wills replied to the topic Prussian sub-commanders in the forum Black Powder 6 years, 4 months ago
We have to apply the main rules to the sub commander situation. So when a sub commander fails an order he can give no further orders this turn, but the brigade commander can continue giving orders.
To understand this it is important to remember than the late Prussian Brigades were the size of other nation’s Divisions, which would have 3 or 4Â …[Read more]
