Same rules as infantry.
If target unit has not already taken an order in that turn, then can react opening fire.

Can a vehicle that has already completed an action do defensive fire if it is assaulted by an infantry unit?

Up and at ’em It you dont have AT grenades.. its a mute point because you arent going to destroy the tank… if you do have AT grenades its a mute point as you dont take the tank fear test anyway…
Blood Curdling Charge; as said in the FAQ, its treated like being within 6″ of the target… so units in ambush still get to fire.

the Mogami refit brings another 4 aircraft for scouting, and as the turrets bearly do anything for me the aircraft are a better propersition :p
re the Kumano – going off memory (& BattleScribe) as books at homeone of them gets its radar & +1 AA a year earlier than the other… its basically the Radar trait that the list is after.

Just to append Enioch’s point:
If playing pickup games /non historical scenarios then you just take the names as sub-classes as there is no restrictions to only 1 of a name.
So for example the Mogami class heavy cruiser class had 4 ships, but you are not limited to only having 4 in your fleet. Only one of them had a massive refit that removed…[Read more]

On page 18 of the Armies of Great Britain book the different National Characteristics a platoon may have are listed. I have a question about the Up and at ’em characteristic and the Blood curdling charge characteristic. Below is the pertinent text from the book my question pertains to.
Up and at ’em: “If the army has this special rule then an…[Read more]

Portugese Brigades post 1810 typically consisted of 2 line regiments each of two batallions plus possibly an independant Cazadore batallion. All batallions consisted of 5 companies , the 5th company being a grenadier company in the 1st Line, a light company in the 2nd line and a rifle armed Atiriadore company for the Cazadores.
Pre 1812, the…[Read more]

If you are playing a pickup game taking place in year X (you have to agree on what date that is with your opponent, to determine availability of national rules such as VT fuzes and functioning USN torpedoes), you can deploy any ship that was commissioned before or during year X – and you see that in the commissioning date field in the data…[Read more]

Thanks Enrioch.
So really you only have to worry about the exact name and commision is really if you were playing a historical scenario. But during general play I could just go by the date on the data card?
-
Enioch replied to the topic Commissioned date discrepancies in the forum Victory At Sea 4 years, 2 months ago
You never go by the model. The model is a placeholder. The reason it has a date on it is because ships get refits and their appearance changes – the model is accurate to how that ship would look at the date mentioned on the model.
In a battle, models can be used to depict the ship at any point during its lifetime. If you have a battle taking…[Read more]

Quick query about commissioned dates. If you guys are playing a game base on a year alone, for example you can’t have any ships after 1942. Wht adate are you basing your fleet on? As I have come across a number of discrepancies between the rulebook, data cards and the model bases.
If you look at the King George Class Battleships for example; the…[Read more]

There were many WW1 artillery limber. Virtually every gun and howitzer type had its own specific limber. That said most were externally similar and most served in both world wars either unmodified or with new ammunition racks, new wheels and suspension for new guns etc. I suppose it depends on how accurate you need your model to be.
Have look…[Read more]

I’m trying to get a German horse drawn limber but the only one I have found is a WWI from Empress miniatures. Both use the MKI horse (the MKII has rockers and was not used by the military) but I don’t know how different the limbers would be. I have plenty of seated infantry to replace the WWI figures. Anyone have any suggestions.
