Ok something else I’d missed – the smugglers run campaign has been updated and included in this supplement.

Just for clarity, the same wording I referred to is in BPI, it is not a change. I, like Alex, think some movement is appropriate, so measuring any movement from the back rather than the new front of the unit could work.

    All the best

Hate to disagree Alex, but I will anyway, p.36 of BPII includes reversing facing (i.e. about face) as part of normal movement rather than a formation change. So it is free provided that the unit is ordered. This will seem too easy to some although the 28th Foot at Alexandria would beg to differ, I suspect.

    All the best

Entering potentially difficult terrain here … but here goes. There is no wheeling required in this game, so the bases would be simply turned around, the key point is that it would need to be ordered or an initiative move with all that that implies.

  • You are right concening the “true” dazzle ones that are not used on new or repaired ships post spring 45.

Unfortunately some USN officers  used the word dazzle for non dazzle camo, sometimes even  for solid designs in correspondance . Some seem to have had  problems with measures that included different colors or shades, naming them wrongly da…[Read more]

  • Just a thought. Just noticed this post incredibly late. I also live in Japan. Sounds like you are being charged custom import fees, via Fedex, for an order of that size. There is a fine line between qualifying for free post from Warlord and getting slammed by Japanese customs; Bringing in a parcel worth more than 10,000 yen could invite the duty…[Read more]

  • And so we come back to an old complant ….that is the mixing of fluff and rules together in what should be a rules paragraph, I mean if the fluff/backgroup part was in italics then it would be easier to see whats rules and whats not!

  • no… the Finns our on an advance order, at the end of movement instead of firing they swap the dice to AMBUSH

your ambush works on their movement… they are not on an ambush dice so cant go down.  More to the point even IF they could  they would stop in the open!

  • I understand the starter set comes with a modified rules set.  Does it included some of the ideas from the older Black Powder  suppliments? Clash of Eagles. etc

    Cheers

  • Well, dazzle schemes got altered but not just painted over. There are books like the ones from Terzibaschitsch that state the scheme for the WW II times by month.

I did years ago in 1/3000 all Philipine seas US ones in correct schemes.

And have many models in 1/1250-

For the Japanese carriers some Polish books are very good. And also about…[Read more]

Well what I will say is…..

Some of the painting guides apparently have errors according to some of the more indepth historically minded people on the FB group (Victory at Sea Wardroom (unoffical))
Depending on the year (and in the case of the Japanese where a ship was built*) the colour schemes change,  with other nations where a ship serverd…[Read more]

Thus rule is used with flamethrowers that are obviously out of range so you don’t have to do a fuel check

  • Some people do…

One House rule is – at the start of the gunnery phase, before the AA step both players may declear if any ship is using DP. If they do that ships light guns can fire in the AA step as per the DP rules.  Ships that don’t declear at the start of the phase can’t then use the DP trait when they…[Read more]

  • Ok I dont have the Epic book… but in Albion Triuphant 2 cavalry brigades can be either Dragoons or light cavalry (Hussars, lancer or Chasseurs) and no more that 50% of all cavalry in the Divison can be Dragoons.  The List allows you to take 2 light cavalry brigades.  So in essence its saying that one MUST be light and the other can be e…[Read more]

  • If the rules are different between books you choose which book you are using and forget the entry’s exist in any other book.

A number of the units are really only fit for use within the scenarios of the book they are in and can cause imbalance when used in generic reinforced platoons and pick up games

This is one of the reasons why people are…[Read more]
