Didn’t know that, I seriously don’t like that rule, I think that falls in with FAQ for Tiger Fear as a bad way to fix a problem. I’d be willing to make an exception for someone just starting the game who may not have 1 in their army available, but you have EVERY opportunity to include a transport when you’re building a list. I’d like it more…[Read more]

Many thanks Garry – as always, very helpful.
Also, I just realised that (somewhat ironically!) I was not precise enough in my own language. When I referred to “Leader Model” I meant “Leader Base” i.e. one of the four bases of a standard unit in EB, not the actual leader mini figure itself. Nevertheless the differences remain and EB still r…[Read more]

“If a heavy artillery piece is not deployed (like in scenarios where
everything starts off map), and the army does not include a tow/
towing vehicle, does it mean the artillery piece cannot enter the
battle? Is it lost, like reserves that fail to enter?
We will make an exception to the rules in this case, allowing
heavy guns that start…[Read more] -

Thanks for posting this, I wondered what the differences were. I have too many 15mm already to divert to Epic. Anyway regarding your question, I would have thought a leader model was the same in all formats, it is the leader model that determines visibility not a leader base, so in a 13.5 mm model of 5 ish mm wide, it cuts down the options. The…[Read more]

Hello all
I’ve recently got a copy of the A5 Epic Battle (EB) rules and compared them to the main Black Powder 2 (BP2) rules that I already have and noticed a few differences that are really confusing me, as follows:
Visibility. The diagram on p39 of EB shows visibility being measured from any point on the frontage of the Leader model. The dia…[Read more]

As Stuart said there is both an entry for the 43 and the 44 in the armies of Germany book.
Have you looked into what you’ll need to transport the thing? If you play any scenario with a first wave/reinforcements you will need something to even bring it onto the table. As someone who uses a FlaK 37 (which I also recommend getting, it’s an absol…[Read more]

The German AT gun servicewas ranked by size.
8,8 and 12,8 cm AT guns had been part of the Atrmy and Corps artillery. So not in division. They got used mainly to defend “Schwerpunkte” where large enemy Tank forces had been expected. The weight caused the static use, sometimes under concrete. It was essential to protect the flanks. And g…[Read more]

Hey Folks,
Just a quick question: If an opponent is attempting to shoot a Multiple Launcher at a transport with a unit, they only roll ONE 1d6 to see if it hits the loaded transport (with a 6) correct? Not 2 – one for the transport and one for the unit inside the transport.
Is that correct? I am going off of pg. 116 statement “Units carried…[Read more]

I have also considered the massed assault , especially when using a russian mainly infantry based army.
What i was considering was early game (after purchasing MANY cheap cannon fodder infantry to lead!😁) have an officer snap to 3 lower rank officers who then all snap to further units of maximum filled out infantry (cheap inexperienced types to…[Read more]

Well probably like most of us who love a spectacular looking model or big artillery piece , i went ahead and bought the pak 43 cruciform AT gun from warlord only to then find it difficult to find a battle or theater in which i could field it!
Then my greed for even meaner looking artillery led me to buy a beautiful looking 12.8 cm Kanone 8…[Read more]

The white buildings are some old resin ones I had before Bolt Action 1st Ed was released. They were resin facades that needed a lot of TLC to get them looking good, but make nice buildings. The others are MDF buildings (cheap ones) from eBay with “texture” sheets printed an stuck to them. We have a resin 3D printer coming sooon, so wil…[Read more]
