“Instead of having to roll 4+ should I roll 2+?” Correct. Pen applies vs all targets in the same way – it increases the number scored on the dice rolled to wound. In this case a ‘2’ on the dice will become a ‘4’ due to the weapon’s +2 pen.
Points to note
– no matter how high the pen value, a natural ‘1’ on the die is a fail.
– while the pen…[Read more] -

I have a question: Weapons that have penetration, when fired at infantry, how does their penetration value affect?
I mean: If the infantry is a regular unit I have to roll a 4+, but the weapon I’m shooting at it with has a penetration value of 2+, how does it affect it?
Instead of having to roll 4+ should I roll 2+?

Jet applies to enemy aircraft within range of the Jet if you are talking about the “no climb” bubble – non Jets don’t get the free climb on activation

Hi everyone,
A quick question that arose after a big multiplayer game we played tonight. Had multiple squadrons of German and US aircraft. One German squadron was ME262s.
The question is whether the Jet rule applies only to the American squadrons and not to the non-ME262 German Squadrons ? We felt it gives the Germans a very big advantage to all…[Read more]

That’s how it is. I did it. It is very “homemade” and fast, without much pretension since I am not very skilled. It serves to encourage you to do something like this quickly without much effort.
Both are brigantines, but one has a third rate deck and a leftover rear mirror, face mask fabric remains of scattered small things sitting on cold…[Read more] -

theres several possiblitys….
1) note 1 shouldnt be there – its a version of the Corp cavalry brigade left in by bad proof reading
2) note 2 should say half of the brigades in the divison should be line light
3) they are trying to say that no more than half of the divisions cavalry can be dragoons, however you do it.Personally I’ve gone…[Read more]

Just last weekend one of my gaming buddies showed me this new scenario from Bolt Action Alliance. It is called “The Thin Red Line” and we had a great time playing it.
We also tried it using the one of the different methods for activating units from the document linked above, but this can still be found on BGG. We used the method that assigns…[Read more]

Hi Jorge!
Happy to see that you are still sailing!
In the English version of the rules (Black Seas, 3rd printing, page 28; “Additional Rule: Strike the Colours”) it says:
As soon as a ship drops below its Break Value, for whatever reason, and every time it activates after that, make a Skill Test. If this fails, the ship will Strike the Colours…

Hello friends!. what do you think of this situation?
A third rate of 74 points, he received a final barrage that took him down from 25 points (his breaking point) to 11 points, leaving him in a situation of , when it is his turn to be activated, he must test his ability to see if he lowered the flag and give up or not, and keep fighting.
But…[Read more] -

Page 121 French Army design list
In the cavalry brigade box it says both of these things, which I think contradict each other?
(1) Note: all regiments in a brigade must be the same class i.e. medium or light.
(2) Note: up to half of all regiments in a brigade must be Line Light
In my understanding it means if I choose to have 2 regiments in…[Read more]

The game effect isn’t that they’re all medics, it’s that the unit is always treated as being in range of a medic.
Being within 6″ of a medic model allows a unit to roll once for each casualty taken (not exceptional damage, heavy weapons or close quarters), ignoring that wound on a ‘6’. It doesn’t matter how many medic models are within that 6″,…[Read more]

You will roll 5 dice for their medic rule. As that is how I interpret the wording.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi this unit acts as medics but unsure on the proper use. For example. A unit of 7 gets 5 wounds do all 7 roll 5 time. 1 roll for each wound but only 1, 6 per a roll would heal 1 person. Or just roll 7 dice and what 6s show heal. Thanks.</p>

You’re very welcome, Mark.
I’m glad you’ll be giving the rules another go – I definitely think they are worth it. The overall system is straightforward, especially as you’re already up to speed with HC. They are also very flexible and easy to tinker with.
