It’s a medium tank with thin armour. Lots of earlier “mediums” eg PzIV , or Crusader have 8+ armour

In game terms it’s a light tank.

Is a Chi-Ha Medium Tank a medium tank or a light tank (it has a damage value 8+ light tank)?

Ah, not seen that one yet, so presumably don’t have the set that introduced the card.

Howdy,
I guess I’m kinda shocked there isn’t an outright Army List for the Hundred Years War.
Feudal French vs Plantagenet English seem reasonable. Maybe mix in some War of the Rose’s?
What are people’s opinion on this?

“Unfortunately the units in both books cant be used in Generic platoons.”
I’m totally new to Bolt Action, I don’t yet have the rules having just looked at some quirky home guard era models and considering getting into the game.
What does that statement mean? Is the only way to play those units to play in a Gigant or Sealion “campaign”? That y…[Read more]

Yes those are the books. Sealion in paticular. Gigant has some really interesting units too though. Unfortunately the units in both books cant be used in Generic platoons. There is however more Generic Home guard option in the “Armies of great Britain” book.

Wakeless rule is to show that the torpedo makes very little to no visable effect on the surface when traveling through the water…. note even when firing a wakeless torpedo from a submarine you still have the air bubble raising to the surface which in standard weather are visable.
Evade Order means that the ship is braced for sudden violent…[Read more]

Those are the ones you need. In particular, “Operation Sealion” and “Operation Gigant”.

Yes, they do. The only weapons that benefit from the US ‘Fire and Manoeuvre’ rule are M1 Garand rifles/carbines and BAR.

The Wakeless rule is written in the Submarine section, but there are also wakeless torpedo listings for some surface ships, particularly in the IJN fleet. Basically the Evasive rule is negated. However, Evasive is not a reaction to attack, it is preemptive to make the ship harder to target. Whether the torpedo makes a wake or not, the ship is n…[Read more]

When an American paratrooper squad is carrying the A6 as an LMG does it pay the move and shoot penalty?

“To repeat what was said earlier, the answer is simple – game balance (it stops you poking one guy out with say a rifle to put a pin on a unit while keeping the rest untouchable.) and to help (as the rulebook says it the same paragraph) give the impression that everything /model is fluid and in motion…”
Thats pretty silly (simple all rig…[Read more]

I’m considering getting into Bolt Action, I’ve got the Dad’s Army platoon underway and I think I’d like to build a Home Guard army. If I were to do that what books would I need? I can see three books (British Army book, Operation Sealion and Operation Gigant) that seem so have some of the units. So I need to get all three? Are the units in the…[Read more]
