Lol.  For reasons like that the ring was attached, it’s a barbed wire holder.   It worked but was not fitted to later vehicles.

Modellers would have a closer look at the back. The later ones had a stronger construction for heavier tows.  And for those with hydraulic breaks a pump was added, easy seen is the big air drum over the coupling on the…[Read more]

copy and paste from v1 at a guess…I would go with the rulebook ie 10 hits bringing down the house

  • SteveT started the topic Exploding houses in the forum Bolt Action 5 years ago

Rulebook says 10 damage of HE brings the house down.  (p.125)

But the entry for Goliath in the German armies book specifically reminds us of the rules for a heavy howitzer bringing down a building on 12 damage.

Anyone know why there is a disagreement?

    Thanks

@paul. …ah just a different way of getting the same result as making the mmg team count as artillery (which protects the mmg from all small arms not just snipers)

Thanks I think I will try using a steel hawser from my spares box on one and leave it off the second one I may even try to fit the covered windscreen from a Horch field car. I bet barbed wire made hitching up a gun at night interesting at night.

No, that device was a metal ring.  Just a fraction of the SdKfz 10 had it.

  • I guess that the pts of Essex class are influenced by number of ships available. With the few CV available in 41/42 they should be more expensive in a historical based game.

Well, my friends and I never care for points. Using historical OOB.   Points systems all give just an illusion of ballanced game.

  • Ok, so here is how it works. Your brigade commander (brigadier) can issue an order to each unit individually, or his entire brigade as a single order (there are conditions to that). If he tries to order a single unit and fails the roll. That is his command phase over. Other units within his brigade could be given an order by the army general,…[Read more]

  • Hello,

I was watching a BP video on youtube and it confused me some from what I’ve read in the 2nd edition BP rules.

I understand a brigade order is from the general to the entire brigade. It is only one die roll for the whole brigade.

However, one can also order battalions individually.

So, here is my confusion. Let’s say I have a brigade…[Read more]

  • Hi Nat – In my club snipers cans till remove LMGs and Panzerfausts becuase they are carried by men.  But in my club, snipers cannot destroy MMGs.  They can only take out a member of the MMG squad.

  • hmms … I sense a new topic… sniper changes for v3

because there are a couple of weird decisions and fudging of points across the board…

I can see in the beta a clear points cut for later launched ships…. the essex class carrier compared to the yorktown class loses 2 flights, gains a 2nd set of DP light guns (doubling the shots) has ranged AA, better local, has advance radar, nearly 20 more…[Read more]

I think that hoop is meant to be a reel of cable, hawser or barbed wire, it is not part of the vehicle.  Not modelled vey well, if I were bothered, I would cut it off and replace with some wire.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

After painting and assembling my sdkfz 10 can anyone tell me about the hoop at the rear of the vehicle. Apart from carrying barbed wire dose it have ant over use.

  • One of the house rules I’ve been toying with about snipers is to remove the exceptional damage ability and replace it with a pinning mechanic somewhat similar to HE.  On a hit the unit receives d2 pins, wound is d3, and exceptional damage is d6.

I think this can represent the immense fear a sniper could cause, since I believe there are stories of…[Read more]

Yes, I wouldn’t use the Kongō in a game where my life or fortune was as stake. I think there’s lots of balancing left to be done in the game, so the points in general have to be taken with a grain of salt. The Kongō can’t be worth much more than 300, I’d think. She doesn’t add more to your force than a 280-point Mogami-class or 275-point Shōkaku-c…[Read more]

    So…

Working with the official, published cards here:

Kongo: 375 points, 8 guns, 1 AD per gun, +1 AP, 2 DD per barrel.

New Mexico: 395 points, 12 guns, 2 AD per gun, +2 AP, 3 DD per barrel.

New Mex also has better armor, more health, more aircraft. The only place where she’s inferior to the Kongo is the speed.

    Don’t get me wrong, I’m not…[Read more]
