After many games now, I really miss the extra protection rule.
Is there any possibility of reimplementing this rule in the v3 rulebook in a future errata or a future 3.5v???

Steiner started the topic Tanks firing against Soft-skin in the forum Bolt Action 1 month, 1 week ago
Dear Comrades,
If a WW2 tank shot against a truck (soft-skin), it would have used HE and never an AP round because it could go through without even destroying the truck.
On page 97 in the manual, it says that if an AT gun fires against vehicles, including soft-skin, it can choose which one, HE or AP to use. But in the game, it would be a…[Read more]

See the close quarters procedure, p106. The part that changes is step 5 (Fight first round of close quarters). Everything up to the model moving into contact still applies (confirmed in the FAQ, currently last question)

The rules state that as part of the Close Combat process “neither unit strikes any blows nor are any other close quarters rules applied”. Does this mean that the target of the assault DOES NOT get defensive fire (assuming it hasn’t already taken an action)?

How do most players treat army morale, when commands are not on the table. My friend and I played a game recently where each player had three commands. I am simplifying the example to make it simple to follow.
Two cavalry commands (all cavalry commands were four units) began on the table and each side’s infantry command (six units) entered if…[Read more]

Kar98k replied to the topic Lack of smoke – game design or mistake? in the forum Bolt Action 1 month, 3 weeks ago
We recently tried a BA3E game with some simple home-brew house rules for allowing infantry and tanks to create smoke, and even though smoke was very useful, we both agreed that easy access to smoke would alter the play-ability and/or balance of certain scenarios.

You’ve bought a WLG product. What did you expect? But hey it fits perfect to the shitty rules of BA V3. 😀

I often ask myself that question as 2 of the 3 I built are mine . I ended up building one with a bunch of FJ tank riders and built the other as knocked out . Still haven’t figured out how to replicate the rear casement doors open , so just tacked the panel in place , might get around to it one day . Missing small parts are probably just a…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: right;”>I just recently purchased the Hungarian platoon commanders set and I was shocked at how enormous they are compared to all the other Hungarian figures I’ve purchased from warlord!! I mean seriously they are a heads size bigger! They look like giants compared and for me they’re unusable.</p>
I’ve bought almost the…[Read more] -

Jim, I just checked my plastic Jagdtiger kit (Warlord/Italeri), and the hull machinegun is still on the sprue.
Now here is the question. Why did I pick up a Jagdtiger kit?

Jim Ripley replied to the topic Short Shot on new Soviet Army Infantry sprue in the forum Bolt Action 2 months ago
Sorry Lee , that rifle is part 34 and has a bayonet folded against the barrel, not part 36 . Its got to be a short shot or a really tight mold gate which snaps the part off , as I’ve had 7 sprues with the same problem . There are 2 other rifles with extended bayonet per sprue so if you have platoon box you could figure it out with a little…[Read more]
