<p style=”text-align: center;”>I used the three bases but spread the figures out a little so that they wouldn’t look too cramped.</p>

Thanks Al. So when you did the ACW at 3 bases, did you use 3 bases for cavalry too? How about artillery, did you go 1 or 2 bases per “unit”?
Cheers

If you read the rules, you will see that only a single unit can contact any one side of a unit! So the difference in unit frontage doesn’t matter. There are occasions where that doesn’t apply, but it always applies if it is the two smaller frontage units that are charging.
the occasion when it doesn’t apply is when a larger unit charges into…[Read more]

Yes, another questions about frontages..
According to the new “epic” booklet, atypical cavalry unit would have a smaller frontage than a standard infantry unit. (3 bases to 4). I thought the idea of BP was to ideally have units with matching frontages? (Otherwise what happens when 2 cavalry hit 1 infantry’s front… seems to have a game effect…[Read more]

Hmm…interesting.
I haven’t ventured into the campaign books yet. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that later

I wanted to give my LRDG a unique look and at the same time, a quick way of identifying some trucks… so just put together a lot of bits to make a command truck and a truck “at rest” that can work as an ambulance or as whatever else i need…

My gaming buddies & I play in tournaments as we can, so we try to stick with the rules per the books & the Errata. We found a while back that getting used to house rules would bite us on the behind at tourney.

I’ve played the simulation-based WWII rulesets before and you spend most of the time looking up results on tables and cross-referencing charts then, 5 minutes later you get a result. You’re right, it’s not a lot of fun because you spend most of your gaming time sitting there doing nothing (waiting for fire resolutions). I’ve been trying…[Read more]

Kodiak,
If the idea of models hiding behind hard cover being eligible targets is too hard a pill to swallow, then just make a house rule that they can’t be hit! Ultimately, it’s your game and how you play it is up to you. If the folks you game with don’t have a problem with tweaking the rules, then do it however you wish.

Ok. The crew is scenic. That’s what I figured.
Thanks

It’s a “Beer and Pretzels” game, designed to be played in 2 or 3 hours so it simplifies many things. Getting into the minutia of battle would give you a game that takes days to play and isn’t a whole lot of fun.

It counts as your tank or SP gun selection. Crew figures are irrelevant, but scenic. Multiple Rocket launcher, counts as a heavy mortar but never gets any better than a 6 to hit. Any unit within 6 inches of the target (that isn’t inside the Katyusha minimum range) is also attacked.

Anybody out there with ideas for taking British 8th Army minis and converting them to kilts. Other than shorts the mini looks like a natural for kilts.
Thanks,
Stoff

And that which could physically be done would be worse somehow than the fantasy 40K rule of being able to shoot through impenetrable objects??

Howdy
I just got a Katyusha and it has 2 crew members, that I can’t find rules for (if they have any).
Do these models do anything other than look good ? (I don’t see a listing for crew in the Katyusha entry in the Armies of book)
Thanks in advance
