So this is the same as v2 (both wording and how it works)
When you target a unit, it has a footprint area. In order to have moved far enough away from that area no model can be within 2″ of it after its move.
Now this means most vehicles will have advance forwards as a reverse of 4.5″ wont be enough for the front to be 2″ further back than the…[Read more]

Per page 101… “When firing using indirect fire, a 6 is required to hit, regardless of any modifier. In the following turn, if the shooter receives a Fire order and if the target unit has not moved from their position, a hit is scored on a 5+ (to count as ‘moved’, every model in the unit must end its move at least 2” away from the position of…[Read more]

Andrew Whitmore started the topic Finns Master of the Hunt rule clarification in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
With this rule, the Finns can advance and then go into ambush at the end of their move if they don’t shoot.
Does this mean, if my opponent then moves within my range and visibility I can acivate the “ambush” and not count as moving for firing purposes?
I am new to Finns so want to check with more experienced Finnish players.
Thanks

It is absurd that you mount it on a trailer and it gets 24 dice. But fix it to a PARKED halftrack and it gets 12 dice. Just another half-baked nonsense from V3.

Special rule for it specifically states it fires ‘as a light anti-tank gun’, so all rules applicable to a light anti-tank gun apply to those shots. It would need to be stated as an exception for that not to be the case.

I don’t know who has read O’Brian, but I have read all 21 books. O’Brian portrays Jack as a large and tall figure, who battles his weight and loves to eat and drink.
Soused hog’s face, anyone?

Does the British Light Howitzer with the 25-pdr AT shells (for +5 points) get the +1 for firing an AT shell?
-Page 96 in the rules for Anti-Tank Guns states that the bonus in only for Anti-Tank Guns (and the 25-pdr is listed under the Howitzer option). It also states AT Gun, not AT Shell.

Nat replied to the topic American M51 Multiple HMG Platform in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
Yep its a trailer… but as its a trailer its not a vehicle (cant move on its own) so its under the artillery section.
its classified as a heavy gun for moving (so cant be man handled 6″ on a run order)

oh they haven’t classed it as vehicle mounted? But wasn’t it normally fired stuck on a trailer? That is going to be popular then.
[Not seen 3rd ed rules yet.]

Is everyone going out to buy a few M51’s??
Got to be the bargain of the year, 24 shots (YES’ 24 SHOTS!!!) with a +1 penetration all for 135 pts. And the good news is that under this crazy new force selection system you can field 4 of these ultimate killing machines. They soon make short work of any infantry or soft skins daft enough to poke a…[Read more]

Nat replied to the topic FAO and spotters V3 in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
Yes – its a massive change.
Basically if its firing indirect and not inexperience or a multi-launcher then it can draw LoS for ANY/ALL spotters or Observers (no distinction between air or artillery). You need to loose LoS from ALL possible spotters (or just receive an order by any means other than FIRE!) to reset the range in score.

the mysteron started the topic FAO and spotters V3 in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
The rules and the errata seem quite clear on this so I’m sorry to ask for reassurance but I just want to be clear. If you have a FAO or a spotter, any number of regular or veteran indirect firing weapons can use them see a target to fire at and do so during the same turn and at different targets the FOA and spotter might see? And this is also the…[Read more]
