I find all the various makes of paint alright to use. i use a paint brush, everybody has their own idea as to what the exact colour of British Olive Drab should be. I would go for Humbrol 155, but then I tend to give the vehicle a dark wash, highlight, dry brushing of dust and mud, so at the end of the day it could be any base colour. Thank…[Read more]

  • When a Vehicle suffers a FUBAR and a panic reaction to ‘execute a run order and move as fast as possible towards the closet table edge’, I can’t see how this can happen in many cases. For example in my game last night a tank after having moved straight on 9″ from the middle of long table edge suffered such a panic reaction. Performing a ‘run’…[Read more]

  • the mysteron replied to the topic Command Vehicles in the forum Bolt Action 5 months ago

    >how this interacts with rifle platoons and transports is any ones guess!

Well on page  149 it describes command vehicles interactions which seem to only involve other vehicles. Though they could receive other orders from other officers. So while infantry platoon and company commanders can seem to confer a morale bonus to vehicles like tanks…[Read more]

  • Thanks again Stuart for taking time to read and answer my queries. I am enjoying my games of Bolt Action 3.

  • Sorry to be Mr loadsa questions. I did try to search the forum for an answer. But do infantry and their weapons other than fixed weapons have an arc of fire? I ask because in my game last night a vehicle target appeared to the rear of a deployed AT rifle. When the AT rifle is activated can it just turn round with a fire action and shoot without…[Read more]

  • I’m quite enjoying the new BA3 battle scenario generator. However I note that with the Breakthrough page 165 it says if you roll for ‘Fog of War’ Deployment you have to re-roll because reserves are not allowed for this breakthrough object. But I note the deployment types allow reserves! Surely the reason for not allowing Fog of War is because the…[Read more]

  • I been trying to understand the command vehicle special rule on page 149. The sentence ( not cumulative with morale bonus, check term. and other command vehicles). I take it that this ‘check term’ is a note to a proof reader or asking you as the reader to check what the term means not a rule elsewhere in the book?

  • The rules and the errata seem quite clear on this so I’m sorry to ask for reassurance but I just want to be clear. If you have a FAO or a spotter, any number of regular or veteran indirect firing weapons can use them see a target to fire at and do so during the same turn and at different targets the FOA and spotter might see? And this is also the…[Read more]

  • Surrounded and Man Hunt scenarios seem similar in their use of the ‘Confused fight’ allowing reserves to enter from all directions. However the Attackers first wave in Man Hunt must enter from their sides table edge. In ‘Surrounded’ there is no such stipulation, so can they enter from any table edge?

    Thanks

  • the mysteron replied to the topic recce selections in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 1 month ago

    Thanks Stuart for clarifying that.

  • Hi, I note in general when creating an army your allowed to take 0-1 armoured cars and 0-1 Tanks, Tank Destroyers etc. So you might take an armoured car  and a light tank which might have the recce option so having two vehicles with this recce escape reaction! Is this correct?

    Thanks

  • Thanks Stuart. Once again I need to read the rules more carefully.

  • The army lists often make reference to having the weapon the model is armed with. If they make no such reference are they unarmed? I’m thinking here of a situation when my Panzershreck team was close assaulted. One model has a SMG the other a pistol modeled. Often weapon teams will show one crew member with a weapon.

  • On this subject, while I accept that a flamethrower could destroy a tank, I’ve never read a historical account of one having done so!

  • the mysteron replied to the topic 6' weapons in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 5 months ago

That seems to be what folks are saying about my recent query.

  • Sorry to be Mr Ask loadsa Qusetions.  I note some weapons such as pistols and flamethrowers have a 6 ” range which is of course point blank, do they also have a long range i.e. over 3″?

    Thanks

  • Sorry if this has been asked before but I can’t seem to get the forum topic search function to work.  When you hit a building with say a mortar and the round crashes through to the ground floor so not effecting the enemy on the first floor. Do these guys still suffer a pin(s)? Thanks

  • I’m a bit surprised by this answer as it assumes there is a difference between Artillery observers and spotters for on table guns and mortars. The Bolt Action errata seems clear about spotters. Maybe there is an intention for there to be a difference?

    >Note that spotters are always ignored for the purpose of victory conditions
    (e.g. they cannot…[Read more]
