Warlord rules writers & proof readers make mistake and over complicate simple rules…. in other new water is still wet!

This is the main issue with warlord rules, whilst they write some of the easiest to read rule books there ability to describe the rules, and refer to what they’ve already written is some times a bit lacking (I point to…[Read more]

It is really glaring as the entries are exactly side by side.

This was also the case with the previous FAQ which contained 2 contradicting answers on targeting empty buildings with a multiple launcher. That was only rectified in this latest one. Maybe this (the no artillery issue) will be rectified in the next version.

It should have no orders taken if it survives. I guess usually the target will react by shooting to try and at least reduce the number of models in (if not kill) the charging unit, so that it (the target) stands a higher chance of surviving. But if you believe your unit being targeted will survive, you need not react and can keep its Order for a…[Read more]

New FAQ today has this about Stalingrad campaign. We had the same question, But the FAQ answer didn’t help.

The special rule “Off-Map Battery” (on pages 137 & 138 of “Campaign: Stalingrad”) states, “Soviet players are not allowed

to take artillery units”. This in turn is seemingly contradicted
in the (“NOT A STEP BACK!” REINFORCED PLAT…[Read more]

  • I’m going to guess that the Fanions are the same as the 1st Empire if the eagles are…but that is a guess

  • Haha please no more campaign books 😆 I am still waiting for PDFs of the Mariana and Canadian Sector books …

  • Nat replied to the topic Yugoslavian army list in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 11 months ago

more likely they havent looked at the balkans in depth…..

next campaign book any one?    Italian invasion of Albania and failed invasion of Greece with the german intervention!

new models – none needed (although the greeks could get a unit or two)
new units – a few Greek & Balkan units… possibly an italian one or two..
new theater lists – 1…[Read more]

  • Haha perhaps Warlord learnt their lesson from that “outing” … a list for an army that surrendered after 6 hours isn’t going to be used much 😆

  • Nat replied to the topic Yugoslavian army list in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 11 months ago

but doesnt germany strikes have a Danish army list?  And they didnt last that long!

  • An army that collapsed in just eleven days in April 1941 …

I suspect that was the main reason why focus was placed on the Yugoslavian partisan resistance forces which started fighting back from June 1941 onwards starting in Croatia (according to Wikipedia).

  • Or a smaller battlefield indeed.

IIRC didnt Andy Chambers say that the FirePower would need to be upped as planes had a max of only about 4 MGs (so that would be FP 3)
Also speed would be 25 mph per Inch of speed instead of the 50 for WW2 because otherwise the game would be slow to get aircraft in to combat.

    Ah yeah….

In which case I’d use the fall of france french list as a base with modifications – ie only light tanks, free conscript rifle squad instead of Artillery.  As they where mainly french equiped.

As Master Chief said, there isnt a separate Yugoslavian partisan army list but rather they come under the partisians heading in the armies of france book.

If you look at the liberation list (pg 107) it mentions being used for Tito’s forces….

  • I’m pretty sure it should work as it scales up for Korea and potentially could to modern area too.

All you need is the scale used to transform planes characteristics into play values.

If I remember properly, Andy Chambers shared some of those informations in a previous post.

It needs to be tested for sure but if we look at WoG/WoW, both…[Read more]

  • Based on my limited knowledge of WW2 if you are talking about the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Yugoslavia, it should be included under the Partisans army list in the Army of France and the Allies book.

  • Thanks for the discussion that took place 6 years ago 😂 It would have been good if the latest FAQ had included thar discussion in its errata:

A unit hit by a flamethrower must check its morale once firing has been worked out and pin markers allocated, as described above. Note that a morale check is required regardless of the number of casualties…[Read more]

  • Printed in the latest FAQ:

If a Partisan army takes a German vehicle with a medium machine gun, will that MMG have 5 shots or 6?
The vehicles from the Italian and German lists used by the partisans do not bring with them the German/Italian army special rules, but rather use the Partisans army special rules.

Since “command vehicle” is not a…[Read more]

  • This was printed in the latest FAQ:

Page 119, Escape Reaction. The second paragraph will be changed to read as follows:

The enemy’s shot is then resolved as normal. If the target has moved out of range or sight then the unit shoots and automatically misses. Note that if firing at a recce vehicle with HE, decide to escape or not right before t…[Read more]

  • So we are looking at.

Firing – work out range /mods etc

roll to hit – calculate number of hits.

PINs – work out and apply number of pins

Flamethrower moral check – moral check on target

Damage – multiply flamethrower hit out to number of damage rolls required.

roll number of hits to see if damage is caused

    -remove casualties (remembering…[Read more]
