Fully agree there Pete. Especially if the clarification on the question comes from a Warlord employee and seems to dismiss a previous one made from one of the colleagues.

First unofficial source is the opinion of the community manager in this discussion
Second hint are the similar Kraftradschützen from the Battle of France campaign book. These are also a unit of vehicles, same experience level all vehicles etc.
And of course, getting 5 order die f…[Read more]

1. Aufklärungsgruppen meant to be 1 unit of vehicles, providing 1 order die. Check.
Hmmm, I went to Spiel in Essen little over a week ago and visited the Warlord stand, where my friend asked a similar question in regards to how Aufklärungsgruppen work ingame. We were given the answer that there’s an order die for each vehicle you take… And t…[Read more]

Sorry to bring this topic up again, but Warlord doesn’t seem to have clarified on satisying way, how Aufklärungsgruppen work ingame. Nor that that the rules for them are anyhow updated in the FAQ.
Yeah, I know this discussion: https://www.warlordgames.com/community/topic/aufklarungs-gruppe/
But unfortunately, it gives little answers and leaves…[Read more]

All of that is in the main rulebook for Mixed Formations. Clash of Eagles has just repeated it.

Dont forget that as far as the rules are concerned each crewman is considered to be on their own 25mm round base. This is important for working out templates, and distance between the crew and the gun (its meassured to the breach of the gun).
Having said that I play that if you hit the gun with a certain size template (3″) I just say you hit…[Read more]

In Clash of Eagles there are some special rules regarding skirmishers, that provide a more granular feel to mixed formations based on infantry type and nationality.
Specific to your question:
The mixed formation requires a formation change. The formation change represents the “parent” battalion dispatching skirmishers to screen their front…[Read more]

I have had this dilemma too. The advantage of a single base is that you can pose the crew accurately, add accessories and make a little diorama and of course it can all be positioned and moved as a single piece. But advantage of having the crew separate is that they can be removed one by one as the gun takes casualties – otherwise you would n…[Read more]

Dears, I’m new to Bolt Action and just starting to build two armies, USA + Germany.
I noticed that there’s a difference between the photographs of artillery and what’s in the box. PAK-40; Nebelwerfer, 57mm light artillery, etc: almost always the photograph of the product shows a rather large rectangular base, while in the box there’s a much small…[Read more]

You need to look at the rules for mixed formation for this aspect of line infantry play. The mixed formation section is part of the advanced rules. Technically the mixed formation is based on a third of the battalion being deployed as skirmishers, rather just the light/voltigeur company, so you may prefer to allow mixed formation for some of your…[Read more]

Maybe I’m being obtuse, but I’m still fuzzy about Skirmishers. I understand the rules regarding Lights & Open Order, but…..
1. Can Line battalions generate their own Skirmishers? If so, how many?
2. If they can generate their own Skirmishers, can a Line battalion shoot through them?
3. What are the rules regarding the deployment/recall of…[Read more]
