As this reads it is independent of the enemy’s scouting effort – although both sides might claim the same benefit?
Correct
So if I have 3 destroyers off scouting, that’s 3x d6, say I roll a 3, 5, 6 – so I have two scouting points.
Correct
It makes no difference if the enemy has 0 scouts or 10 to my efforts.
Correct
How can scouts mask your own fle…

Rules are pretty clear . No assaults from vehicles
Under DISMOUNTING FROM TRANSPORTS
“Although a unit can use a Run action to dismount from a vehicle, it is not allowed to use this move to make an assault upon an enemy in the same turn”

You are correct. The Banzai rule only kicks in ‘If a Japanese infantry unit is ordered to Run towards (or charge) the closest visible enemy…’
What he is suggesting (running out of a transport) would come under the final paragraph of the rule:
“Note that a unit can be ordered to Run/Charge in another direction, but in that case it will follow…[Read more] -

Scouting on p56
- both players commit suitable vessels to scouting – this gives a scouting force and you roll d6 per vessel / flight.
- on a score of 5 or 6 you get a scouting point. All ok so far.
- then consult the scouting table to see what effect that level of scouting has.
As this reads it is independent of the enemy’s scouting effort -…[Read more]

Right it is a variant of a run order. As such it has been argued to me that you can run out of a transport so you can banzai. However, I read the rule to say that you run at the closest visible enemy and since there is no line of sight from vehicle you cannot banzai out of a vehicle.

Stuart Harrison replied to the topic Body Armour and Exceptional Damage in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 3 months ago
There is no difference.
You roll a 6 to wound, it causes a casualty. You then roll for the possible exceptional. If the second roll is also a 6, you choose the casualty, if not, the defender chooses. You’re not trying to score 7, 8, or higher, you’re simply required to follow a 6 ‘to damage’ with another 6. Super-sixes only exist in the ‘to…[Read more]

Sneakily inserted into the Judge Dredd range are now the Kleggs, Robots and Wally Squad.
Does anyone have these models? I am curious to know if they still suffer from the old scale issues? The Klegg look big and brutish for example but it is hard to tell without someone else to scale next to. Do the Kleggs have rules additions included (or r…[Read more]

It wasn’t a question about how the exceptional rule works. I’ve edited my original post to reflect.
The question was, how does the exceptional rule work when you have to roll 6s to wound, does it fall into the impossible shot rule?

This may be a daft question: Can you have a unit with more than 4 stands? I realize that a large units has four stands, but I would like to create some units with say, 5 stands. I game with 115mm sized figures.

Stuart Harrison replied to the topic Body Armour and Exceptional Damage in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 3 months ago
Snipers aside, a six on the roll to damage isn’t automatic exceptional damage, it’s a POSSIBILITY of exceptional damage – you have to roll another 6 to actually score exceptional damage.

Body Armour and Exceptional Damage
My Soviet Combat Engineers, which are veterans as standard, required a 5+ to wound. If taken with the body armor this changes the need to roll a 6. However, this also then makes it exceptional damage. When I play this unit, the first time I take wounds I lose my NCO, flamethrower, LMG, or antitank capabilities.…[Read more]

Bovington is pretty easy to visit. I’ve been a Friend/member for a while and entry is free other than for special events such as Tiger Day (there are 2 per year) and Tankfest. If you’re planning a special trip, you’d get a lot out of either of these events (Tiger is Spring and Autumn, Tankfest is early summer). Those events are on the Tank Museum…[Read more]

If you want the actual ship, there are some out there that you can hunt down and print. Otherwise a 5th rate model is just fine, and they are constantly adding new specific ships and whatnot. You can also consider modding a frigate for a more direct resemblance.
