Ahh, we were giving boom chits only after the opponent had a chance to save.  That may explain why it was so hard.

So all your tough fighters get an additional roll even though you don’t know if they actually hit on their initial hits?  Tough fighter get to an additional roll if they are successful on their initial hits, not if they are unsuccessful.

I found it in the errata they cannot fire the weapons.  I assume that because they are not a “unit” that if in a tow or a transport by themselves (in other words the unit that the spotter is spotting for has disembarked) that they do not change the transport from unmanned to manned.

Would that reasoning also apply to Mortar and Machine Gun Teams which also have a non-infantry model?

I believe it is extra points because it is a half-track.  Half-tracks can go into and through rough terrain which may be an advantage in certain situations.

Yeah since I wrote that comment, I came up with house rules where I melded the two game.   One of the things I did was to get rid of the reactions except for down, just like Bolt Action.  We are actually running a league with the new rule set starting on October.

Right it is a variant of a run order.  As such it has been argued to me that you can run out of a transport so you can banzai.  However, I read the rule to say that you run at the closest visible enemy and since there is no line of sight from vehicle you cannot banzai out of a vehicle.

So how does the Swedish Salvo work as it allows Swedish Units to fire on a charge. Do they fire, then initiate their charge or do they they fire somewhere along their movement?

How does that work with the rules for Commonweaths in the Western Desert Book pg 102 that seems to indicate that you get all the rules for the British army but must choose a national characteristic other than those a purely British force could take. Or are commonwealth Armies not considered “British” for the purpose of the Army rules?

I used Bolt Action Japanese for regular Chinese troops and German Blitzkrieg for the Chinese German Trained troops. I painted them according to what was shown in the Empire of Flames supplement.

In our league we have discussed some of these sniper rules set forth in this topic, but we have also discussed getting rid of the HE template and just use basic hits against units instead (Such as 2 hits for HE 1, 4 hits HE 2, etc).  It would quicken the game slightly as players would not have to reach across the table to see how many figures they hit (and then argue about it).  They would also would spend less time spreading units out to just under 1 inch trying to defeat the template.

So MacColla is separate from the body guard unit (unless he purposely joins the unit and is subject to the rules for eliminating leaders who are a part of a unit as normal).  Therefore, if the body guard unit is disordered it will follow the normal rules for disordered units and MacColla who is separate may still give orders as normal.

    Makes sense.  Thank you!

We use a 45 degree template and a laser line to determine what arc a player is shooting.  You place the template under the vehicles being shot and then use the laser pointer to determine where it hits.  It is is on the side, it is a side shot.   If it is only on the front its a front shot.  It has made games alot less argumentative on the subject.

I would look to the Japanese bamboo spearmen for examples. They have no firearms and are rated as inexperienced I believe. from there you can add 3 points per man for regular or 6 points for veteran.

There is also a section in the Duel in the Sun supplement about Italian Ethiopian Askari troops. They would be those Ethiopian that fought for Italy during WW2 but it might give you some guidance.

I don’t know how to do that. I tried to delete it after it happened I could not figure out how to do that either.
