Sorry but this is nothing about historical reality. First and foremost I play no Normandy at all, I play Fortress Budapest, I have read at least 20 Russian memoirs, they call all German AFV with tracks, but without turret as Ferdinands, and all Panzers are Tigers. But they does not seems to be frightened and paralized every time, when a German tanks appeared. They have KV-s, IS tanks to cope with Panzers. Not to mention SU-85 ect. So Your theory might be OK in Normandy, but not ok on the real mayor theatre. So Tiger Fear must be realted to fronts and not to be universal, if I follow Your thinking.

Also, I need to spend an activation with my unit to put 1 PIN on an enemy unit, Tiger Fear can place 1 PIN on 10 units or more without activation. How on Earth can that be not unbalanced?
Also never forget, the Germans had a very very powerfull and modern armoury and weapons, but they had very few of all compare to the Allies. Bolt Action players like boys in a sweet shop, can buy any and all candies for every battle, so this is already a big advantage, I do not think They really need Tiger Fear to be ahead of the other players.

    Hi!

I play games based on Fortress Budapest, and in that supplement, all Panthers and Pz-IV’s in Hungarian service have the Hitlers Buzzsaw rule. Which is realistic, because none of the German made tanks had different weapons in Hungarian service than in German service. So T-38 and Stug III and Hetzer, and Pz III all had German weaponry. So I believe there is no difference between the Hungarian Panther and the German Panther. And because the latest models all have this ability, in Fortress Budapest I see no reason not to apply the same in 1942 Summer for the T-38+Pz IV tanks.

    Hi Gentleman,

when I have a medium mortar with a spotter, far away from each other, and the spotter get 3 pins in a turn. Can I activate the mortar next turn without moral probe? The mortar can see the target without the spotter, but I have 3 pin on the spotter which is the same unit but separated from the mortar.

Also when I need to hold a point to win a scenario, and the scenario description says: infantry or artillery unit must be in 3″. The spotter of the mortar count as an artillery unit itself? Can I hold one point with the spotter, and an other one with the mortar?

In my last game I let my opponent to do both, holding the point with a spotter, and not making morale check for the mortar, but for me it just does not feel right.

    Hi Brin,

You welcome. It might worth to check Wargames Illustrated, they also had an article this Year about using Black Powder for 1914 early battles.

    Hi,

one one WSS magazine issue from last year has an article about this topic. I can’t remember which issues sorry. Basically use the army list from Warhammer Historical The Great War rules, with Bolt Action second edition rules. In WH lists every figure represent 3 real soldiers. So a BA squad became a platoon, but with the same number of figures, for Early War 1914 the German platoon is 10-18 figures big.

You must do this scale up, because not much support weapon was available. Only two MG in every battalion, so You need 8 British squad each with 10-12 figures to be able to have 2 MG unit each wit 5 figures. And this lot will represent a half real battalion. Each company has a unit of 5 figure as a company command platoon, plus four platoon with 10-12 figures. You need four company to have a battalion.

I hope You get the idea.

    Well Dear Slyde Klewlis,

I do already made half of your dreams come true. I play in 20mm, so I have all the models available. 😛 So no dreaming, gaming. 😀
I only need the 1944-45 Hungarian list to be accurate in the new book, not a big issue I think.

Yes I agree, the best choice from the gamer point of view is a Romanian army.
Well, I hope it will be no silly mistakes again. Also hope to have more accurate units, like Turan tanks and Zrinyi assault guns can have schürzen armour.

    Hi Gents,

    a few question:

If an American player in 1944 can call 2 airstrikes (with one observer), and this player have two observer and call 4 airstrikes, and these are delayed and just arrive all in a same turn. The opponent can shoot with his flak unit against all four attacking airplanes, one by one. Is this right?

If I have a recce vehicle, and I need to make an order test, which I do not pass. My vehicle goes DOWN, and retreat. This movement backward will be the half of my advance speed, or will be the full because this is a recce? I think the first, but maybe I am wrong.

If we have a wall, which is one figure high, but with many holes on it. And we have one infantry unit on each side, in base contact with the wall, shooting against each other. Do we have the cover for example +1 or not? I believe both unit have cover.

When we roll a hit during the prep bombardment, do we maximum kill one figures from a squad, or we use template and could kill more? I think the first.
