Might be worth checking out (and even contacting) the chaps that run the SNAFU podcast. They focus on BA tournaments in your corner of the world. They also run their own. Very informative about the game in general too.

I put myself in the strange situation of charging at same time two regiments in their flanks, in march column, with one of my regular regiments. What happens in this case? I add togheter the dice for the two charged regiments? Tanks, Paolo

Cool that sounds interesting. I’m glad that WL is releasing an article about lists building, since I bet a lot of the points costs will be shaken up.

Mmgs/ hmg change – confirmed – screen shot of vehicle card from the starter set
Green rule – change confirmed – screen shot of a page of the rules and in the rulebook order page.
Engineers rule – this is from one of the campaign books
List building changes… sounds like it’ll be discussed this week in the v3 article… from talking to WL…[Read more]

On second thought, I think I’ll actually wait to set my list in stone and start building until V3 comes out. Rumors are that MMGs and HMGs will get buffed to 6 shots, and engineers and other types of infantry are changing.

Howdy Aidan! The serious Bolt Action players here go to the Las Vegas Open every year. There’re also tournaments in Salt Lake City, at a store called Gajo Games….

Nope. No social media other than browsing this forum. Except every once in a while I search Reddit to see how people paint their models or build their lists, but other than that I try to stay away from the toxic tornado.

Oh ok, thanks.
Nice I’ll have to play with that from now on. Because trying to maneuver to get a close to the bridge as possible, even though you are a half inch from the base kind of breaks the immersion.

It’s part of the long lance national rule…
There’s a house rule that goes if the bases are touching (or a few mm shy) you count as being in short range unless your weapon would be point blank…. So touching doesn’t mean your turret can hit that DD, but does mean your torp stands a chance of working

Ohhhhh I see, that makes sense thanks.
Yeah I noticed that the points were all over the place.
That’s good to know, because I eventually want to get some carriers 3d printed.
Yeah terrain sounds fun, it would be more of a “world of warships” arcade vibe, but being able to limp your damaged destroyer behind cover to save it would be handy. And…[Read more]

Thanks Nat!
I don’t have Facebook, and there’s no game stores here (Alaska) that I know of. I’ll be down in the North-West this fall, so I think I’ll just try and find a game store there.

facebook – a lot of US regions have their own FB group – & word of mouth / hosted by LGS or gaming groups.
So all I can say is if you get your stuff from a game store ask in there.

the missions all have a priority which gives you an extra 10% points, the agreed points or loses you 10% points…. for competative gaminng priority levels are normally ignored.
Erm… points…. yeah…. with the rulebook points I can take 3 different IJN Destroyers (DDs in short) all for the same 60 points and get 3 completely different type of…[Read more]

Hey guys, to anybody in the United States – how do you find tournaments? Is there a sort of event that’s been going on in one place for so long that you know where and when to go, or a one time thing that you have to catch? Specifically in the North-West.
Thanks for helping a new player. -Aidan

side note … do look in the ‘news from the wardroom’ as it was worked out that the starter set is NOT designed to have all the ships on the table at the same time. But rather give you the ships to do the 3 levels of priority as fleet can have (pg 21 in the starter booklet)

Dive Bombers kill Destroyers, and especially after 1943, the USA will wallop the Japs in the air. Ignoring that though, remember, your destroyers should be screening your larger ships. Against the Japs that means they should be more than 8″ out. Equal numbers/points, you will probably still take some torpedoes, but you can reduce the hurt thro…
