Hi John, so you’re only allowed to say positive things, you have to say yes to everything and you have to like everything? Otherwise you should keep quiet? That’s a good attitude.
It’s not just about having fun. If you invest a lot of time and money, you also want a good product. As a customer, I can say if I don’t like a product. If WLG had…[Read more]

Oh, I’m sorry Johnny, I’m just trying to encourage improvements to Bolt Action by suggesting corrections based on knowledge and professional experience. I’ve been trying since Version 2. I was taught in the USMC to continually improve my position. Well, you’re either part of the solution, part of the problem, or just part of the landscape. I’v…[Read more]

We are currently commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Kołobrzeg, fought by the 1st Polish Army in March 1945. It was bloody but victorious for the Polish armed forces, which were being reborn alongside the Red Army. In this article, I would like to recall one of the Polish infantry divisions that fought for Kołobrzeg, immortalized i…[Read more]

If you don’t like the direction that WLG have gone with Version 3, then stop playing it, stop posting negative comments. Remember it is just a game, meant for fun and enjoyment with friends. If you don’t like a rule then agree to your own house rule. At the end of the day it is all about FUN.

Howdy Nat!
Yeah, I’ve been picking up the new BATTLE ACTION comics by Garth Ennis. They reference a lot a the old military comics. NONE of that is how Warlord Games presents Bolt Action. That’s why the published all those historical scenario books, with references to actual historical military personalities….NOT comic book ch…[Read more]

Kar98k replied to the topic best paints to use? in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
Have you looked at the official Bolt Action painting guides (PDF files)? They are a good start for beginners. They used to be free (and easy to find), but I have not seen them listed lately. Anyway, I’m sure they are floating about someplace if you know where to look.
As for paints, I also like Vallejo, but AK, Tamiya, and MIG also make good…[Read more]

Hi Nat,
I see it a little differently to you. Yes Warlord Games is outdated and in my opinion has the wrong authors and no experts for these topics…BUT…then they should ask someone who has the necessary knowledge.
Furthermore, they already had rules that were at least comprehensible for the game itself. The incomprehensible thing is that…[Read more]

So… I see people seeing comics as only SciFi (Judge Dredd, rogue trooper, Marvel) but the UK had a long line of WW2 (WW1 /Korea /other history) comics with Command & Warlord as well as the original 2000AD and others. Also Dan Dare, Johnny Red, Biggles characters … boys own adventures type of thing – impossible situations but the hero wins…[Read more]

@Peter, it wasn’t in the Armies of… book. It’s a campaign book unit, Road to Berlin, p110.

Well, there’s a teaser in today’s email from Warlord. Apparently they’re looking at a late 2025 release. Some stuff about “Rift Dice” and “Heroes”….
The Bolt Action group at my store, White Knight Hobbies & Games in Helena, MT, is working on blending Konflikt with Bolt Action Version 3….

So I’ve got the Version 3 book and the new Armies of Germany. I don’t see the Panzer Zerstorer Squad anywhere. This is one a my favorite units. Is it gone from the Bolt Action universe? I’m an old paper and pencil list-making dinosaur, with a dumb flip-phone. I don’t have Easy Army capability….
Thanks for your time and consideration!

Howdy Nat!
Some a this sounds familiar. I think we’ve had some a this discussion before, back in Version 2 days….
1) I disagree. I think folks (like me) play Bolt Action BECAUSE it’s a WWII historical game. That’s also why we play the different countries armies and buy the scenario books. If I wanted to play comic books, I’d play Judge Dre…[Read more]

Howdy Kar98k!
5) No, I didn’t overlook Hitler’s Buzzsaw, I just think it’s heavily watered down. Besides being belt-fed vs magazine-fed, MG34/42s fired two to three TIMES faster the any other countries MGs. I think one extra die…[Read more]

L.T. Russell replied to the topic Ridiculous weapons rules in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
I hear you Peter. I also disagree with Nat’s theory of a B&P/comic book game. I play Bolt Action precisely because it’s a historically-based WWII game. I don’t play Bolt Action because it reminds me of THE HAUNTED TANK or SGT ROCK or SGT FURY AND THE HOWLING COMMANDOS. I play it because I’m looking for that balance between playability and det…[Read more]

Peter replied to the topic Ridiculous weapons rules in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 2 months ago
I disagree with that. It’s no longer a B&P game. The second edition can be described as such. BA third edition plays like a different timeline or a kind of multiverse. It has absolutely nothing to do with reality. For that kind of game, WLG actually has Conflict 47.
If you even equate weapons that could hardly be more different, then you don’t…[Read more]
