They are all one unit, so yes they are fighting. If the melee caused the unit defending the village to break then the whole unit breaks, the part of the unit ‘on the other flank’ doesn’t get to stay. Why, because they are one unit – and you cannot fire into a unit in combat. If you and your opponent agree to house rule something else thats fine,…[Read more]

I agree with you that Warlord developers don’t seem to understand how weapons (or tanks, trucks, etc) work. That said:
1. Pistols, when available, are much faster to use in close quarters than other firearms. WLG shouldn’t have nerfed them.
2. 12ga shotguns with OO buckshot are lethal out to about 100 yards. That puts them at about the sam…[Read more]

I agree, but troops on a different flank aren’t fighting.

i’m saying you can’t fire into combat, even from another flank.

Hi,
So your saying the defenders may fire out of the village with those dice not being used in the melee, does that mean I can’t return fire. Remember this is a village not a singe house and we’re not talking about the same face as the melee is taking place.

Going through the new rule book and the new Armies of Great Britain book. I can not find any mention of the Highlanders. Is there any word as to when they will be available?
Thanks,
Stoff

Hi All,
I’m John. I paint miniatures that I will never use. Currently painting US Armored infantry for Bolt Action. Does anybody have any suggestion for gunners/crea/passengers for M3 halftracks? They look very lonely without somebody in them. The M2 gun needs gunners. I’ve used gunners from thew US tank crew set but that’s expensive.
Cheers

Hi John, I agree with your opponent that you would not be able to fire at the defender. Yes, firing comes before melee, but movement comes before firing (except for defensive fire, which happens during movement). Once the attacking units charge is successful both sides are now in combat. Sure it doesn’t get resolved until later in the turn, but…[Read more]

Am I blind, or is Germany missing the option for the B2 740(f) (gun tank, not flammpanzer)? The majority were kept as gun tanks, and it’s still sold as such on the webstore, so I feel like it really should be there but I’m not seeing it at all.

If you have ever tried to take a village or town you will know how difficult it can be. We had a situation at our club where I was attacking a village on one side, the defenders may have two attacks on that side so were able to fire from a different side with their one remaining dice. I wanted to fire into that side with my artillery but my…[Read more]

Hi. You would need two moves. Firing doesn’t need an order, and can still take place even if an order is failed. (of course in that case artillery would have to be already deployed).

When foot artillery is limbered the rules state that it takes a full move to unlimber then the gun is ready to fire. As shooting comes after movement can the gun fire in the same move. For example if I wanted to move 12″ unlimber and fire, would I need three moves or two.
