The firer would need to take a Fire order test to fire if it has pins. If the order is passed then the mortar hits on whatever it needs. If it’s already hit the target on a previous turn then it needs a 2+. It is the order test that is the element here that is impacted by pins.

Nope. It says in the rules small team applies to infantry units.

Bovington is pretty easy to visit. I’ve been a Friend/member for a while and entry is free other than for special events such as Tiger Day (there are 2 per year) and Tankfest. If you’re planning a special trip, you’d get a lot out of either of these events (Tiger is Spring and Autumn, Tankfest is early summer). Those events are on the Tank Museum website and you need to get a ticket in advance. Dorchester, Poole or Wareham are really close to Bovington and have hotels and decent places to use as a base to visit other bits of Dorset. Clouds Hill (TE Lawrence’s house) is about a mile away from Bovington. I don’t know about the other sites….

Hi – no problem… I was cooking dinner hence rushed reply….

Check out Sonic Sledgehammer or Peter The Wargamer on YouTube. They cover this sort of stuff. Also, bear in mind that cloth fades, gets stained, blankers and tools get lost, stolen, borrowed etc so use some latitude and don’t be a slave to the rivet counters….. enjoy!

@Jacob – thanks for the reply.

I have the metal flak kit already (Xmas gift). I must admit that I prefer the plastic models versus the metal, the latter are a bit more effort to deal with etc. I think I’d prefer to base the gun on something as I can see it getting damaged if not. Plus the basing makes these models stand out a bit more. I will however keep the crew separate.

Magnets are in the post via Amazon. I ordered these from Amazon –  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002A00WH4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

….they were recommended on the Pete the Wargamer channel – which is very good IMO:

Hello all – not sure how succesful this may be given the current Covid situation but…. – I am based in North Hertfordshire and if there are any other local-ish WW2 Ardennes/Normandy nuts it would be good to make some connections.

    Cheers,

    Simon
