-When a general with a SR of 9 joins a brigade commander with a SR of 8, do you use 9 for the re-roll?

-If you are re-rolling using a general with a SR of 9 and you are ordering a unit with the Reliable rule, would that make the re-roll order a 10?

Thanks Garry – I see your point. To make it even more complicated, I’ve just noticed that on page 160 of the main rules in the scenario section, Guards units (although generic not specifically British) are listed as 7/3/3+/3 with special rules of Elite 4+ and reliable.

Thanks Big Al – this is helpful. Yes, maybe you are right – just stick with the main rules. Therefore:

Foot Guards = 8/4/3+/4 plus Reliable and Elite 3+ (I like the way this compares to the French Old Guard stats as well – very even)

52nd/large battalion = 8/4/4+/4

Standard battalion = 6/3/4+/3

Brief question on formation changes under the Proximity rule as I have seen differing comments on this.

Thanks for that.

I think this means both are “standard” size but a British 9dr battery is classed as normal “foot” (with a range of 48″) and a French 8 gun 12 pdr battery can be classed as “heavy” (with a range of 60″, like siege). I guess this would make sense as it gives the French an advantage of 2 dice from 30″ rather than at 24″. Is this correct?
