“Professional Carriers” ? They are not better. I’m still waiting for a book sent by Warlord via UPS to Germany. In January!
UPS gives daily new notes. In depot, at custom, left cutoms, in depot, on transport , at customs……… Like an ape hitting buttons . I got so many delivery dates……. Like the Allies post Arnhem it does not mo…[Read more]

Already sending photos to Warlord per their request.
Even without seeing the photos they are blaming the shipper.
If indeed the shipper rough handled the box, which there is no evidence of, its perfect and has not been opened re-sealed, the fact the one small “brigade box” which had no shrink wrap , while the other one did, would not have…[Read more]

George,
Since this was likely Warlords fault and not the shipping company, it won’t make any difference.
I do not believe customs did it, as the box does not seemed to be resealed.

Thanks Big Al but back to you said. What is the uphill advantage? I’m not reading it in the BP 2nd Ed. rules.

I’m American, too. I’m wondering if we can request, if on is willing to pay for it, for a professional carrier such as DHL, UPS, or FedEx to deliver packages?

Hi,
I am in the USA, and the package went thru customs at Los Angeles California (Californication).
However, the outbox was flawless, something I would not expect if the same people trashed the inside.
Its possible though.
Regardless of the reason, I am no longer going to order directly from them.
Instead I will wait for my online game shop…[Read more]

Wow. I’m sorry that happened to your order. Just thinking this through a little though. Are you in England? If not, did your package go through customs and get inspected? I’ve gotten packages opened before and resealed by customs.

Mine was a mess.
NOTE the outer shipping box was 100% sealed, with NO damage at all.
Here is the list of issues the packer “Ana” (2 of her packing cards were enclosed) caused:
1) The main box was not shrink wrapped and had already been opened.
2) One of the two brigade boxes had no shrink wrap, was partially crushed and ripped along its edge, wit…[Read more] -

What a mess, how can the person at Warlord games even place their 2 cards with their names in the box as the person who packed and picked my order with this kind of disgrace and lack of caring?!?!?

Just to add
4) building are hard to bring down with canon balls… not the sort of thing that could be done in a short space of time (even a couple of hours). Look at some of the building still standing that where under fire during that time period.
Also buildings are abstract, its very hard to find a single building big enough for 700+ men to f…[Read more] -

Big Al, you say “There is an uphill advantage during combat which you lose if you are pushed back.” I’m going into the rules trying to find that uphill advantage. I can’t find it. What is that advantage?

Charge The Guns replied to the topic Using BP rules with 15mm or 10mm in the forum Black Powder 5 years, 1 month ago
Hi Nigel. In my group we also use 4 x 28mm on a 40mm by 40mm base. We typically have 6 bases for a regular unit (24 figs), 4 bases for a small (16 figs) and 8 bases for a large unit (32 figs). You will note that two small units equal one large. This makes sense to us as a small unit is typically 2 stamina and a large is 4 (for ‘normal’ troops…[Read more]

Okay, more to ask.
6. There seem to be no movement penalties for moving up a hill or down one. Am I missing something? Shouldn’t I slow down a bit going up a hill?

Hello,
Well I got two armies now. One is Dutch (under a British COC) and the the other is Bavarian (under a French COC). Each army has a 3 regiment brigade of cavalry, a 3 battalion brigade of infantry, and a battery of 8lb smoothbore artillery.
So, I played a solitaire first game with Black Powder rules. I enjoyed testing the rules but came up…[Read more]

Hi Skh25. I don’t believe there is anything missing from the Shiedwall special rule. I suspect the bit you are reading in the description is just hyperbole, and not expected to translate in to some tangible part of the rule. In Shieldwall your defence/resilience increases, you are less effective offensively, and you are slower. Seems a fair…[Read more]

Many also fought in Channel, for example single ones used with MTB to back them. In October 42 a mixed force of 8 MTB, tw Hunt I and three Hunt III (with 2 TT each) attacked the German raider Komet, escorted by T 4,10,14 and 19. RN attributed the sinking to a torpedo from MTB 236 but the Torpedoboote noticed no torpedo hit but a fire caused by…[Read more]

With UPS / Customs still blocking my book sent in January I will still not order anything from Warlord.
So scratch building. This time a typical vessel of East coast and Channel fights., a Hunt I. The type had many clashes with German S-Boote and Torpedoboote.
The original design asked for a small AA destroyer with 6x 4” guns, a quad 2pdr Po…[Read more]
