I have now played two games using v3.
and I am relieved to say that the game is still fun to play, and for me, hasn’t lost its mojo.A couple of points though;1. Is a command vehicle, like a German 251/10 or pioneer vehicle with a panzerbuchse counted as a transport, and is therefore destroyed under the transport vehicle rule?2. My regular opponent and I, are not liking the ‘any spotter can direct anything rule’and have decided to ignore that one.3. I am looking forward to the new German infantry to be released in January. Not sure on the vehicle choices in the new boxed army however, Panzer IV and 222 wouldn’t be mine.4. Am I correct in saying that engineer/pioneer platoons don’t require transport?(Someone told me they do).PhilOctober 30, 2024 at 10:21 pm #190598Stuart HarrisonParticipant1. Does it have a transport capacity? Is it taken in a transport slot? If yes to both, it’s a transport and suffers the transport’s draw backs.
4. The only platoon that requires transports for it’s infantry units is the Recce Infantry Platoon. The rest are optional 0-1 transport per unit, or in the case of the armoured platoon, no units to be transported.

October 31, 2024 at 6:14 pm #190604Capt ScarlettParticipantTransport, yes, I feared that would be the case.
Good news about the pioneers, makes that new German infantry look very nice.
In my view, spotters had limited contact, normally only with the unit they were directing for.
Saying that an RAF officer could direct mortars for an infantry unit is bonkers.
But I understand why the rules are written that way. But its too unrealistic for me.
