ParticipantI apologize if this has been discussed earlier but ….
Why did the cost of a German Panzerschreck jump up so much in the new Armies of Germany book?
In the Bolt Action Rulebook (pg. 206), the cost is 88 points, now it’s 104 points (pg. 47 of the Armies of Germany book).
I don’t see any new special rules added.
What gives?

ParticipantHowdy Jeff!
Warlord Games is a British company. IMO, it’s just all part of standard policy to screw the German player, in favor of the Allies, particularly the British. Why did the cost of a Panzerfaust go from 5 to 15? Why do certain Russian units get to have Panzerfausts, they didn’t produce them? What happened to “Tiger Fear”? Why is the FG42, the automatic rifle of the Fallschirmjaeger considered an assault rifle? Why are the MG34/42s, the ONLY actual LMGs in WWII, only given one extra hit die, when they have ROFs sometimes twice to three times higher that the automatic rifles the allies are using as LMGs? Why did the US M2 HMG, one of the slowest firing MGs in WWII, suddenly become the fastest firing MG in the game?
You wanna see a real mess? Take a look at firearms in the new Konflikt 47 2.0. It’s seems kinda obvious to me that none of the designers at Warlord Games have any actual experience with firearms in general, nor bother consulting with anyone who does….

ParticipantIn the MRB list, the veteran premium is only applied to the base anti tank rifle team cost with the panzershrek as a fixed price upgrade. In AoG, the veteran premium is applied to the regular panzershrek team as a whole. It’s a function of the unit pricing system throughout Bolt Action. Opinion – all options should have pricing by experience level, not just the option to add additional men.

ParticipantInteresting posts. Thanks for the feedback, guys.
The real issue I have is this; the Americans are paying 78 points for a Veteran Bazooka team (Pen +5). The Germans are paying 104 points, 26 more than the Americans, for a Panzerschreck (Pen +6). All the stats for both units are the same except the penetration. Seems a steep price to pay for one extra penetration.

Kar98kParticipant…26 (points) more than the Americans, for a Panzerschreck (Pen +6).
If given the choice, I would be happy to pay an 26 extra points to change my American veteran bazooka team from Pen +5 to Pen +6.
If I pay the 26 points, can I say my American veteran bazooka team is using a captured German panzerschreck (Pen +6)? (wink, wink)
