OK, I’ve been playing Version 2 for a while now.  We have a league going at White Knight Games.  I’ve got a question that I haven’t been able to get a satisfactory answer for.  When the Falkes, and Fireflies, and various Jump Mechs come in from Reserve and are landing anywhere on the playing field, do units with the Flak ability shoot at them?  And if not, WHY not?  I’m not particularly IT savvy, so has this been addressed in FAQs or Errata?

No, because the FLAK rule is explicit against attacking aircraft & doesnt use an order.
Flight comming on from reserves has its own rules which grant ANY enemy unit within 12″ the abiltiy to react and shoot – using the firing units order

This isnt in errata, but the errata is found  same place as the army lists:

    (take out the spaces)

I find the warlord list builder app good for things like this as the keyword trait /rules are in the app and can be called up and checked without having to find them in the rulebooks!  (or worry about downloading the latest version of the pdf :p)

    Howdy Nat!

Thanks for the response and the info on where rules are.  It’d be nice if rulebooks could contain all the info in one place….

Those may be the rules.  They make no sense to me.  I get that Warlord Games wants to sell lotsa the new Allied jump mechs and Fireflies, but coming from Reserve and being able to basically land anywhere on the playing area means they’re dropping outa the sky, and that is what FLAK is for.  What’s the difference between shooting at an attacking aircraft and shooting at incoming mechs, jump troopers, etc?  If anything they’d be easier targets….

There is also a Firefly “jump in” scenario in the Festung Europa Book were it is stated that all uinits with the FLAK rule  automatically shoot. But only if they not have recived an order die at that moment.

But units in ambush (in bolt action) can use FLAG also. If i remember correct.

So it seems a bit “unclear” how it is handled in K47.

There are not many “Original” K47 Units with Flak as far as I see and that specific scenario was not written with also Bolt Action Units (Flakvierlings) usable.

    Howdy Ghettotech!

I’m on the road, so I don’t have my rulebooks handy.  IIRC, in Bolt Action, all units with FLAK trigger automatically, no matter what their dice status, including friendly units.  ‘Course I could easily be wrong.  Yeah, there’s very few actual K47 units with the FLAK capability, but that’s why you include Bolt Action units.  The ability to use Bolt Actions units, as well as K47 units is the main thing that attracted me to K47 in the first place….
