You’ll need to home-rule the cannons on a Whirlwind, as currently the rules only allow bombs and torpedoes.
Incidently, I’ve just finished reading a book about the Sharnhorst’s Channel Dash from Brest. The RN MTB flotillas came under a fair bit of straffing from the well organised constant air cover by the luftwaffe during their attacks. The book mentions the attacks, but there is no mention at all of any specific damage inflicted by air attack on the MTB’s. It does however mention that they had to dodge the air attacks, which hindered their torpedo attack runs.
This would seem to validate the dodge rules in the rules.
It is also worth noting that a near miss from a bomb would often rupture the hull plates on a ship, causing major leaks, even on warships. Ruptured hulls on merchant vessels would slow them down and sometimes cause them to sink. For example, the tanker that made it to Malta (can’t remember the convoy name/number) was only just afloat as she came into port. She had suffered hull damage from bomb near misses, and actually settled/sank after birthing.
I’d love to see cannon rules. Id then dust off the cannon armed anti-shipping B-25’s that were used in the Pacific:)

In another coastal forces ruleset I’ve used, a semiautomatic or automatic loading cannon roles two dice to hit and takes the best result. This is to reflect the increased efficiency of the gun team, but it does no additional damage. Multibarreled weapons role one dice to hit, and on a success another dice is rolled for additional hits depending on the number of barrels.
I’ve only played a couple of games of Cruel Seas, and found it hard to hit anything unless I’m at stone throwing range. None of the quad 20mm hit anything, but I imagine they’ll be devastating to an MTB.

I’ve used a Dremel to make a recess for a rare earth metal magnet in the underside of the hulls on my boats. The plastic models only needed one to hold them securely, while the tanker and larger vessels need 2 or three.
They stick to magnetic sheets just fine – just make sure you get the magnets the right way round before gluing them in place 🙂

Thank you for the additional information. I’ve also seen the ‘Tanker Build’ video on YouTube.
    So now I’m sorted.

Thank you Richard. I was hoping it was going to be something simple like that.
    Much appreciated.

Thank you for the reply regarding the wakes. I had already seen the sticker and read the article regarding this.
My issue is really related to the damage sliders…specifically the lack of. I’d have expected 10 or 11 in the box, as that’s the number of models and ship cards included in the starter set.
I suppose I’ll just have to contact the customer service desk (u less the Wales also include a slider.
