I am usually playing napoleonic, mainly AB2. So when I get it right the listed points there are wrong. It should be 30pts for prussian horse, right?

We had in our last game (napoleonic) the situation where there was a infantry unit in attack collumn with an attached artillery unit. They had been attacked by a cavalry unit. The infantry has to form a square and will not be further attacked by the cavalry. What about the attached artillery? Can they still be attacked?

We are usually have games with 2000 pts per side. As we are now playing BP for more than 10 years it works fine. But sometimes we have a 20 minute rule. That means, every player has just 20 minutes for his command phase. It not only speed up the game but it also reflects the stress and the insecurity in the battle. It is fun because it is a lot more action.

In the germnan version the units of a broken brigade can receive one order and not only a retire move order. My opponent gave the order to build a square. Though the units were in a defendable position and not to move any further.

BP 1 says: “Units are allowed to make a single ‘retire’ move in the command phase instead of using their initiative ot reveiving an order (p97)” So they must not but are allowed to do a single move, just a move.
BP 2 says: “Units can no longer receive orders in the command phase and cannot use their initiative. They must make a ‘retire broken’ move instead.” exept units in a defendable position like a building or a square.

I wonder if it is right, that the german version allows one order, not only a move. My opponents ordered his units to build squares and though he kept them where they were as squares are a defendable position. It felt strange.

On questions in regards to unreliable units.

When a commander roll just equals its stuff rating the order is issued but as the unit is unreliable they will not act. Now what anout the commander, can he still give orders?
Do the commander now have failed because the unit do not take his order or as he had equaled to his staff rating he had not failed?
