Do support units need to be given an order to give support or is it simply based upon whether they are within 3 inches and positioned in such a way to give support?

    Hi Mark,

No order necessary – units provide support by being within 3″.

Orders are only necessary for units to move. This is the general’s/your job. Everything else (fighting, shooting, etc.) is left to the unit’s officers so happens ‘automatically’ in game terms.

So does that mean that the support unit cannot do anything else that turn but support? In other words it cannot shoot at another unit and support the one in combat in the same turn.

    Hi Mark,

Good question. We pondered this for a while when we started with the BP series. A unit can shoot at visible targets, and also support a friendly unit, in the same turn.
