Ok if a unit has the amount of PINs equal or more than their Ld they auto brake and are removed as casualties.

Shirkers rule is all pins count as double.

So for a Ld 8 unit with shirkers rule do you need 4 or 8 PINS?

I’m not sure it’s defined specifically but if pins count double for all purposes then 4 would do it.

    The rule is:

Not all those herded to the front and handed a rifle are willing participants. Some troops might be conscripted militia from occupied territories, or they might be criminals or captives – reluctant or inept fighters looking to desert at the first opportunity. Shirkers must always take an order test when given an order, even where they are not pinned, and always count pinned markers as double – i.e. one pin marker is a –2 penalty, two is –4 and so on.

I’ve italicised what I think is background leaving the rule…So it looks like they defiantly count for double when taking order checks, but the rule is only for order checks…

Yup, need 8 to break them.
Count double pins for order tests
