MacColla's Bodyguard as a small unit.

The Army of Montrose can bring Alasdair MacColla which includes a bodyguard unit (page 163). The stats list 5 for hand to hand and 1 for shooting with a stamina of 2 but also states that it is a small unit. As a small unit does it still suffer from the -2 hand to hand and the -1 stamina or is that already worked in to the stats as listed.

The adjustments for a small unit have already been made to the factors for this fearsome unit. The note is there so you know to make it look smaller than the regular size units.

(I think that the lists are sometimes a bit inconsistent in this regard, so easy to get confused.)
