Koin-Koin's little planes

Get my hand on an extra discounted Yak 1 box so I decided to proxy them for the Yak 3 beta card.

The winter camo was a pretty obvious choice for me but I ended with two too contrasted greys.
The light one was too light and the dark one too dark :/

I decided to airbrush a dark wash on them to try to tone down the contrast.

It seems to work and provide a really weathered look but I’m not really sure if I’m ok or not with the result.

I can either go forward or give them a Glanzer bath, no big deal, the paint job is really quick. The longest part is the camo masking.

Any advice is welcome.

Mosquito squadron completed as I get the decals earlier this week.

I finally decided to strip the mast Yak’s squadron so it get back to the WiP state as some extra squadrons:

The Spitfire Mk IX and Dora

The Beaufighter and the Me410 with pre-marking in progress

The Kates are delayed due to specific paint job with various schemes within the same squadron.

Also, I will use the Aces’ minis from the first wave all-in as a project to learn painting skins.

It took a while as I had serious hiatus in my painting but finally 4 squadrons finished (the Beaufigthers’ one hide somewhere so I forgot it when going to the wash step. Should be finish soon).
