Gallic Lists

Hi,

Just perusing the army lists. I have noticed that for the gallic army it states that 75% of the units in the army must be infantry other than skirmishers. There is then a further that at least half the non-skirmisher infantry units must be a warband.

All well and good, except that the list only has 2 types of infantry – either skirmishers or warband.

I think that they just copied and pasted that sentence from other barbarian lists. It doesn’t really matter because you were going to use those anyway. It is something to consider if you are drafting in allied units and the Gallic army is the main force.

Ah thanks. I had not considered the allies part. This list does have allies in it – German warbands, but that does not make any difference. Galations do OK though as they can field light infantry units.

On the historical side though, the Gauls were noted for their lack of skirmishers (I seem to remember).
