edging back into BA – a first 1k Soviet list

Hi – im edging back into playing BA. I havent played for several years and even then it was sporadically and typically just at 500pts.
I’ve decided to start Soviets and would welcome input on this as an initial 1k list. Thanks!!

Jnr Ltnt with 1 regular (both SMGs)

8 regular SMG
9 regular rifles (Guards)
8 regular SMG

Some points I find…

Max squads give you a reroll on failed order checks

A couple of LMGs in a unit give you extra firepower for a static firebase (I tend to take 2 units of guards each with 2 LMGs)

Move 2 or 3 of the SMG guys from one unit to the other to run with the officer. Then turn the smaller unit in to tank riders (same cost as regular SMG guys 🙂 )to jump on the T34 – its a nice way of getting them up field quickly.

I find a Zis 3 a must as it gives you another indirect fire weapon & another AT gun (you are a bit light having just the 1 light and 1 heavy AT both on vehicles… they dont need to kill you tank to stop it shooting their vehicles)
