    I do both, plastic base with mdf base under. Plastic base is too shallow and light, although holds flocking well. Mdf adds height and weight, so figure is not tipping over and easier to pick up without damaging paint.

    I would like to recommend Brian Carnes, aka Sea Dog Game Studios, with his 3D printing services. He is currently building Soviet Uragan class (Bad Weather) guard ship for the game. He also have an array of other ships he can print, prices are reasonable. I have seen his work at different conventions, nice detailing. Check him out of FB.
