    Question on Sectors:

Played this sectors last night and when counting points at the end came across an issue that hopefully you can resolve for me.

I had 2 squads at the end of the end of the game that had the majority of the models in the opponents sector (6 in 1 out for both units). The rules state that units only score if they are totally in a sector, so played them as not scoring at all as not totally in any sector? is this correct?

    Thanks for the clarification.

The other issue that came up and caused some confusion on one of the other tables related to Stuarts.

These are 8+ vehicles and have the special rule of Vulnerable. So the question was when shooting at the side of this tank the armor value is effectively 6+ (-1 for side and additional -1 for Vulnerable, or even 5+ if hitting from the rear).

So can you shoot with small arms as its now the same as soft skinned but then use the vehicle damage table with D6-3 if you roll a 6 or would you still need to use a heavy weapon even though you are effectively shooting at a 6+ or 5+ target. I also suppose thinking about this a bit more that the same would be true for firing at the side or rear of 7+ transports.

Can someone please clarify the rules around passenger operated weapons on transports for me as had some confusion in a game I played recently.

Page 37  Orders Phase point 2 – Once a Unit has been given a order it cannot be given another order that turn.

Additionally Page 39 Rally and Down orders – The unit does not move or fire.

Therefore if a unit being transported has been given a Down or Rally order can it still fire the secondary passenger operated weapon when the vehicle is activated? seems to allow for a single unit to take two actions in a single turn if this is the case which contradicts point 2 of the orders phase.

Also then does firing the weapon count as a FIRE order? or is the unit effectively allowed to shot twice in a single turn, vehicle weapon and then advance and shoot?

I understand that the effective free fire action is common, but this seems to present inconsistencies with the core principles that apply in all other areas of the game.

Interested to hear your take on this.

Hi, Looking to find active players in the Weston Super Mare/ Bristol / Exeter area willing to help someone new to the game.

Fair comments. would like to see getting some benefit from a higher tier unit with a spotter. but agree with your other comments as would be a bit over powered.

One aspect of the game has been puzzling me a while and feel considering how the HE mechanics work could better reflect ‘reality’ and totally change the way these are used in game. This is a conversation that was started between myself and a fellow player who happened to have severed in the RA, when I asked them how the use of HE relates to his experience.

My argument is – when using smoke it either hits the target you are aiming at or misses by a distance and in a certain direction as it has to come down somewhere.

Why then when we fire HE does it either hit or effectively miss the entire table? this has to come down somewhere and should be treated in the same way as smoke, introducing the possibility that you could cause friendly damage or some other unwanted effect.

Further more apart from the benefit of LOS that a spotter gives, the experience level of a HE team has zero outcome on the result. My suggestions would be.

Having a regular spotter HE team combination would increase the first time hit from a 6 to 5 and if it misses then the distance it misses by is reduced, the rest of the normal rules remain the same. (Veteran would reduce by a further 1).

Interested to hear others thoughts on the matter.
