Dont thing theres anything surface level… possibly an osprey book like “Churchill’s Channel War” or drachinifel / IO might be able to point you in a better direction

Apart from that maybe check out  YouTube, or you have to go deep diving in to Operations by Name /Location,  Unit history, work back from shipping losses that sort of thing.

  • Fair… BUT I dont think WL make the plastics in-house, they do all the metal & resin models!

  • probably NOT the place to ask .. the official forum for 3rd party stuff …. doesnt help companies spend money keeping forums open!

I’d head over to Facebook or Discord and see if anyone has any spare…

Short answer – by RAW (rules as Written… NO!)

Long answer – If you can justify it any then any non heavy tank can be taken, however the way the PDF is written transports & Tows are a subsection of Vehicles and the specific – only common vehicles can be taken – overrides the generic ..anything not 9+ or worse can be taken.

    there’s pictures of…[Read more]

I can think of multiple reasons…

One is actually the same reason as most companies have removed their forums – GDPR and other privacy laws – you want the articles to be open to every one and easily read which means you either have to allow anonymous posting (BAD IDEA!) or you have to put vairious measures in place.

Another is you want an up…[Read more]

The following two points are essential for understanding Bolt Action:
    1) Bolt Action isnt a historical simulation game – its a game of the film /comic of history – this is true of ALL Warlords games.
    2) All the stats are homogenised to give a feel rather than accuracy, and to make the game easier to play.

Also.. .v3 is just tweaks of earlier…[Read more]

… official points dont include speed!  which since day one has cause ????

But yeah … its an issue, CS (and lets be honest most of WL games) points are there for approximation rather than fine balance.  Most of their games are written as a framework for players to tweak and alter to fit their own club games.  Cruel Seas is especially wr…[Read more]

  • So latest FAQ says that if a common transport vehicle isnt included in the Armies book can be taken from the rulebook

  • FYI, the AoG errata & FAQ is up..

  • Nat replied to the topic Ships Flags in the forum Black Seas 10 months, 1 week ago

Theres a couple of pdfs in the offical FB group for black seas – One of the various pirates, Dutch and Royalist French & one British East India company

    might be a couple more.

  • It’ll be here… on the FAQ /Errata page

    https: // warlord-community. warlordgames. com/bolt-action-third-edition-digital-resources/

(take the spaces out of the link for it to work)

  • Word in the FB groups is that WL have gone ‘oops, missed that… they’ll be added in the errata…’

keep an eye on the downloads page for when it is released, (or the WarLord list builder app which is updated with WLs offical errata) … its got a few entries due that i’m aware of

Until then I’d use the same costs as the get-you-by list in the…[Read more]

  • Apparently (as I dont have AoG) stuff like mule teams are in the book..
I have heard that the truck entries in the book are missing MG upgrades so they are there as well…

So it sounds like that NO you cant take the ‘common transport vehicles’ from the main rulebook as they have superseeding entries in the armies book.

  • Definetly something to email through to WL  …

are they available in the WL app?

  • Nat replied to the topic Soviet Dog Mines in the forum Bolt Action 11 months ago

One-shot weapon:  Means it can only be used once per game, it allows you to choose if to use it when doing a fire or advance action.

Now IIRC (away from my rulebook) they still have their old to hit chart.  This means no other to hit modifiers happen.  As its a hit against the DV of the vehicle and NOT a facing cover wont apply!  however its not…[Read more]

Only the one he failed with on.

The other units never get the chance to be given an order so how can they do at least 1 move of that order?  Its like when you give orders to your first brigade commander the timing for instictive orders has passed so you cant then have a unit carry one out.

  • Nat started the topic What am I thinking! in the forum Black Seas 11 months, 3 weeks ago

So … I always like the idea of a complete formation rather than just a few units…
And I like the idea of sailing boats
Plus for some strange reason I end up playing Russians in every historical system!

which means the MADNESS of the Russian Fleet in the Eastern Med 1805-1807…. all 42 ships! (16 being 2nd and 3rd rates)… But has the upside…[Read more]

  • Nat replied to the topic Light vs Medium Machine Guns in the forum Bolt Action 1 year ago

    pretty much yes.
LMG, 2 man crew, inside a squad
MMG, 3 man crew, fixed weapon, a unit in its own right.

  • Nat replied to the topic HE on multiple units / pin in the forum Bolt Action 1 year ago

IF (and its a big if) multiple units are hit by a HE template then yes all units hit will receive the pins.

Note you roll the D2/D3 for each unit.

Example a 4″ HE hits a unit of 3 models, you place the center between 2 of the models making sure that all 3 are hit by the template (so meeting the requirements for placing the template) and you…[Read more]
