I have not played V3 but have played V2. I have decided to start a new army for V3, but have a hit a conundrum which I need help with.

I am building a themed army of a Dec 1941 Jock column from Operation compass. The following units made up a Jock column.

2nd Battalion the Rifles – going for 2 squads infantry platoon. They where always short on infantry

    3rd RHA – 3 x 25pdrs

    11th Hussars – 3 x Humber MK2

4th RHA – was an anti tank unit using 2pdr Porte and Flak. In V3 has a truck with A/T gun got the survivability to match its role? 2LT Gun got his VC manning a burning Porte whilst knocking out a couple of tanks, don’t need a VC type unit but not one that’s destroyed by a mmg burst.
    Which leaves me some options.

use the LRDG option, recce makes it more survivable but still running from small arms and not fighting tanks.

use a normal 2pdr and just use the truck as a diorama, but this will use a artillery slot needed for an AA unit though.  Vet with gun shield rule is quite survivable.

last option would be to use the SAS armoured jeep rule for 10 pts and class it as armoured in the rear flank only. A 2pdr gun shield being better protection the an armoured radiator, but this will need opponents consent and a little cheesy rule steal?

    thanks

I’d go with that trucks taken out by small arms is a gameplay balancing act (they did roll on damage tables in v2 so the change is either gameplay or writters)

Or house rule that the porteee / gunshield means you roll on the vehicle damage chart (full damage) instead of auto destroyed?
