One of a several other sources I have read mentions a glaring problem with this selector list. Then I just finished reading through Osprey Publishing’s own Campaign Series #18 “Guadalcanal 1942 The Marines strike back”.

The author of the “Bolt Action: Armies of Imperial Japan” book Agis Neugebauer epically failed to include two critical units present during this long battle.

105mm Medium and 150mm Heavy Howitzers. They were positioned near the Matanikau river and fired frequently at the Seabees and Marines positioned on Henderson Airfield. They referred to these guns as “Pistol Pete”.

The selector is inaccurate and needs to be amended.

One 150mm was placed shortly after the first airfield bombardment which took place after the marines captured the airfield.

Later another twelve 150mm howitzers, along with tanks and close to four thousand Japanese reinforcements arrived after a two hour naval bombardment by two Japanese destroyers.
