Engineers in Platoon Selectors

I was hoping for a quick clarification regarding Engineers.

In Bolt Action, the rules clearly indicate that a Rifle Platoon can not take any units with the Engineers rule. Taking such units required an Engineer Platoon. I don’t see any such restriction within the K47 platoon selectors – while the Engineer Platoon is still present, it seems like you would only have to take that platoon if you wanted the standalone flamethrower teams. Is this accurate? Am I allowed to take a unit with the Engineers special rule in one of the infantry selection slots in an Assault Platoon (or other platoon with the appropriate type of infantry slot)?
