Can somebody clear a question on the Dutch national flag, I have seen the stripes in two different ways. What order should they be stacked in

Horizontal Bars, Red on top, White in the center, Blue on bottom. For flags of the period seems the blue was slightly lighter than that used currently.

The other variants are from 17th century. In that time the “Staten” of the united Netherlands had different admiralties, using them.

The modern Statenvlag was used until 1796, the short lived Batavian Republic added in the red a rectangular white field showing a Netherlands maiden, with a lion at her feet and some republican symbols.

Napoleon made his brother Louis King of Holland in 1806 and the new king used the Statenvlag again. His pro Dutch ways made the Oger furious. The Netherlands became French in 1810-14, using French colors.
