Cat Shot OneParticipantJesse, absolutely, I had that on the radar.
Renko, the only reference to destruction I could find in the meantime is in scenario 7 on page 61. Here it says twice that destruction equals the reduction of all area hits to zero, no point hits mentioned. Do you have another page or source in mind?
Cat Shot OneParticipantUnderstood, but it’s a closed group (without wanting to start that discussion again) and I’m not a member of that religion for the protection of my digital soul 😉
It’s too bad the game forum is not visited often by the game team.
Cat Shot OneParticipantThere once was an article on a beta rockets card
Did the final version turn out like that?
Cat Shot OneParticipantThanks Jesse. I got my copy of Air Strike the other day, so I know the newest version of the strafing ordnance & laden rules (and I find the forward FP rule a bit harsh while I like the addition of the 18″ zone for climbing).
Now since Falcon Squadron came out much earlier than Air Strike, I suspect the Rockets equipment card to be an air-to-air weapon like the Soviet RS-82
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RS-82_(rocket_family)
but I may be wrong.
Does anybody know for sure?
Cat Shot OneParticipantWarlord Games, any insights on the other points?
Cat Shot OneParticipantIndeed, I see my mistake. I hadn’t known yet that “Armoured” is a positive aircraft trait and thus always on.
Cat Shot OneParticipantHi Koin-Koin,
I appreciate your efforts. However I still hoped to get a reply by Warlord Games crew and perhaps even a fixed version at some point.
By now it is clear that the missing stat is not in Air Strike.
The more I look at it, the more oddities I find in Sandstorm. I guess the Hs 129 B-2 should have the Multi Engine (2) trait, making Sluggish unnecessary. If I understand correctly, “Armoured” is the new “Robust”. If you think it’s confusing, it did that to the card designer also: The Hurricane has Robust, the Hs 129 Armoured.
But then again, you don’t need them for the Sandstorm rules anyway (p. 3) or did I miss anything?
Cat Shot OneParticipantBob D, to my understanding this is just going to be a adaption of the rules for Airfix, “sold separately” as they say.
I don’t think that we will see a complete shift to that scale and the end of the world as we know it.
(Also, Warlord Games is not a 1:72 kit manufacturer.)
Cat Shot OneParticipantI would love to game the air war over the both Vietnams. It would also directly allow us to play 67′ and 73′ scenarios in the Middle East. I’m only worried that my table will be too small for afterburning Mach 2 dives.
Love to see the rules for guided ordnance like Sidewinder/Atoll, Sparrow? Laser guided bombs? Walleye? Anti-radar missiles?
And of course the flying telephone pole aka S-75 (SA-2).
Cluster bombs could be made to cancel Dispersed or Mobile.
Suggested new target card: SAM site
Cat Shot OneParticipantCan anybody help with the questions I posted a in December please – perhaps the author(s)?
Cat Shot OneParticipantRelease moved to February 2020 according to Warlord Games newsletter.
If it helps to make it a better product (better proof read and play tested than the D-Day scenarios) I will gladly wait.
Cat Shot OneParticipantGood question. Originally there was a clear distinction between 2-4 motor bombers and single engine fighters. Fighter bombers are blurring this line now. While Stukas aren’t really contributing a lot of air-to-air capability I had similiar musings about P-47s.
Cat Shot OneParticipantGotta wait a little longer:

Cat Shot OneParticipantTo my understanding it is going to be a rulebook and not a box with playing pieces/models etc.
