    I like the rule system, but the following are things I think would streamline or improve them…

    Assaulting infantry: I think there should be a class of infantry that has special close assault capabilities based on their weaponry and training (grenades, pistols, smgs, and other multi-shot weapons light enough to carry into an assault), there should be additional cost for these units, but they should always strike first in a close assault.

    Templates: I am not a fan of “how many models are under the template”, first it suggests that each shot is single shot (but the whole game lasts 6-7 moves), so the whole illusion of the template makes no sense.  I would prefer to see a schedule.  HE ammo: Light (up to 2 models), Medium up to 3 models), Heavy (up to 5 models).  I would give units that go down saving throws (however, without the benefit of cover) rather than half the hits, to keep it simple with the rest of the firing rules.

    Buildings vs Building Rubble: Except for movement (running into buildings vs advancing into rubble), I would treat them the same for all other purposes.

    I would bring back the “reinforced platoon” as an option for version 3 for smaller point games with fairly tight options on what could be added to promote a more infantry-based encounter, you can do this without it being a “formal option”, but I wish the force selector software supported this option.

    Curious what other rule changes people would make and whether there is a site where they are being inventoried.
