I am rigging the ships in the starting box and would like some tips on making the sails look like they are billowing. I have tried gently bending the sail around a brush handle but am afraid of bending them too much and splitting the layers of the sail. After this wrapping around the sail will return to its flat state.

I found rolling the sails round a brush handle works well followed by curling in the bottom corners. You need quite a lot of curl if they are to fit between the yards. I them stick the top edge to its yard and after that sets push the bottom corners into position and fix with superglue.
